Equifax is looking for a Data Acquisition Specialist to join our USIS Data Strategy and Execution Team. This is a critical role that supports Equifax’s data strategy by acting as a subject matter expert, defining target companies for relationship building, and expanding our best-in-class data assets. The role is pivotal in managing our third-party data portfolio, driving cost-effective acquisitions, and connecting data sourcing to product revenue.
What you will do:
Reporting directly into the USIS Data Strategy and Execution team, coordinating with other team members to establish and execute a comprehensive vision and strategy to support Equifax’s data lead vision by maintaining a compiled target list of emerging data sources based on capabilities.
Identify, qualify, and communicate to internal partners about required data capabilities linked to each data category aligned to support an Equifax vertical or capability.
Conducts research and performs analysis on potential new and existing data sources acting as Subject Matter Expert (SME) to help with the development of business cases, data research, and competitive analysis to execute against business unit deliverables.
Manage day to day activities including: data acquisition, data process and data governance functions.
Track and compile dashboards to track macro-industry and market-specific trends to advise on the market needs as the subject matter expert by driving data insights to communicate data portfolio performance.
Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders to ensure data is integrated and utilized effectively across data fabric.
Maintain a solid understanding of the roles, responsibilities, operating models, and core capabilities necessary to drive the overall data strategy.
What experience you need:
Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline required; Master’s degree preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
2-5 years of analysis, product management, and/or consulting experience regarding data, preferably within financial services.
Experience working in a data environment or with data solutions, with high-level domain knowledge.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Understanding of consumer and commercial data usage in the marketplace and monetization methods to address business needs.
Experience supporting the implementation of data requirements and practices for an assigned area.
Proficiency with BI tools (Looker, BigQuery, Tableau, etc.) and desktop application suites (Microsoft or Google).
Ability to identify and solve problems in straightforward situations, make decisions within guidelines, and prioritize work to meet deadlines.
