We are searching for the best talent for Accounting Specialist – General Accounting


Purpose:

The Accounting Specialist is responsible for executing and coordinating general accounting activities to ensure accurate financial reporting across Americas. This role combines technical accounting expertise with coordination responsibilities, including task approvals and process oversight, but without direct formal people leadership. The position supports operational excellence and compliance with corporate and regional standards.

The position supports operational excellence and compliance with corporate and regional standards.


You will be responsible for:


  • Perform and review general accounting tasks including journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial validations.

  • Coordinate monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate execution.

  • Approve accounting entries and reconciliations prepared by junior staff or peers, ensuring compliance with internal controls.

  • Analyze account balances and transactions to detect inconsistencies and propose corrective actions.

  • Support the preparation of financial statements and internal reports.

  • Collaborate with internal and external teams to resolve accounting discrepancies and support audits.

  • Lead or participate in continuous improvement initiatives and standardization of accounting processes.

  • Ensure proper documentation and compliance with corporate accounting policies.

Leadership & Communication Responsibilities

  • Coordinate daily accounting operations and provide guidance to junior team members, focusing on technical support and review of deliverables, rather than formal supervision.

  • Approve tasks and deliverables within the scope of general accounting.

  • Act as a point of contact for cross-functional teams and regional stakeholders.

  • Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performance team environment.

  • Communicate effectively across regions and cultures, adapting to diverse business contexts.

  • Demonstrate ownership and accountability for assigned processes and approvals.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in general accounting or finance roles.

  • Experience in coordinating accounting processes and reviewing deliverables.

  • Solid understanding of accounting principles and regional compliance requirements.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).

  • Intermediate to advanced English and Spanish.

  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

  • Experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred).

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
