The Deposit Account Control Agreement (DACA) Specialist is responsible for the coordination, review, negotiation, and administration of Deposit Account Control Agreements and related escrow or control agreements. This role requires strong organizational skills and the ability to interpret complex legal and contractual documents. The DACA Specialist will act as a key liaison between internal departments, borrowers, lenders, legal counsel, and third-party financial institutions to ensure timely execution, accuracy, and compliance with all applicable policies and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Coordinate the end-to-end DACA process, including intake, review, negotiation, execution, and record retention of Deposit Account Control Agreements and related escrow agreements.
- Review and interpret legal documents, including DACAs, escrow agreements, and related loan documentation, to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with bank standards and credit approvals.
- Facilitate contract negotiations by coordinating revisions and discussions between internal stakeholders, borrowers, external banks, attorneys, and other third parties.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for internal departments (Credit, Legal, Treasury Management, Loan Operations, Relationship Management) and external parties regarding DACA-related inquiries.
- Ensure all agreements align with approved credit terms and internal risk management requirements; escalate discrepancies or concerns to appropriate management or legal teams.
- Track and manage multiple DACA requests simultaneously, ensuring deadlines are met and service level expectations are maintained.
- Maintain organized and accurate documentation files, including executed agreements, correspondence, approvals, and amendments.
- Partner with internal teams to ensure proper account setup, control implementation, and ongoing maintenance following execution of agreements.
- Identify potential process improvements related to DACA workflows and recommend solutions to enhance efficiency and risk mitigation.
- Comply with and remain current on all applicable bank policies, procedures, and federal and state regulations related to deposit account controls and collateral administration.
- Assist with audits, internal reviews, and regulatory examinations by providing requested documentation and support.
Position Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in banking operations and cash management processes preferred
- Minimum 2 years of experience with Deposit Account Control Agreements preferred
- Ability to review and redline contracts and agreements preferred.
- Understanding of real estate and investment transactions
- Strong written and communication skills
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from business units, clients and managers
- Knowledge of treasury management products and services preferred
- Strong Excel and Word processing skills
- Ability to analyze, evaluate and interpret information and date to formulate conclusions and recommendations
- Ability to work with all levels of Third Party provider stakeholders and contacts
Salary Range: $60,000.00 - $90,000.00. Exact offers will be determined based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
