Site, Business, OR Functional Area Overview
This role is based in Evendale, OH with additional opportunities to support work in Lynn, MA, within the Design Engineering (Mechanical Components) organization. The Support Equipment team is responsible for the design and sustainment of tooling and equipment that enable safe, efficient assembly, disassembly, and transportation of engine modules. You will collaborate closely with manufacturing, design engineering, and other partner teams to ensure our tooling and support equipment meet program, customer, and shop floor needs.
Role Overview
The D&S Support Equipment Module Leader is a technical project manager and engineering lead responsible for the design, development, maintenance, and support of all assembly, disassembly, and transportation equipment for an assigned engine module. In this role, you will drive both new tool design and continuous improvement of existing equipment and components, ensuring solutions are safe, robust, and cost-effective. You will plan and execute work to deliver on-time, with quality, and within budget, operating with a moderate level of autonomy while applying standard processes and sound engineering judgment.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Leadership & Design Execution
- Lead a cross-functional design team to plan and execute the design, analysis, and evaluation of engine module assembly, disassembly, and transportation equipment.
- Apply sound engineering principles and adhere to business standards, procedures, and product/program requirements.
- Own mechanical and/or electrical aspects of support equipment as needed for assigned tooling solutions.
Module & Process Expertise
- Develop deep technical knowledge of the assigned engine module assembly processes, sequences, and interfaces.
- Translate module and manufacturing needs into tooling concepts and solutions using prior experience and growing expertise.
Business & Cross-Functional Integration
- Understand key business drivers and priorities, including safety, quality, delivery, and cost, and use this understanding to shape tooling and equipment solutions.
- Ensure support equipment work integrates effectively with manufacturing, design engineering, suppliers, and other partner teams.
Problem Solving & Technical Judgment
- Use engineering judgment to propose and compare alternative concepts, including options outside standard parameters, with appropriate guidance and review.
- Leverage internal experts, best practices, and available data to troubleshoot, root-cause, and resolve technical issues.
Process Compliance & Design Standards
- Know and follow all Support Equipment design processes, standards, and requirements, and ensure the team does the same.
- Ensure tooling designs comply with customer requirements and CTQs (Critical to Quality characteristics).
Project Management & Execution
- Plan and monitor schedule, cost, and quality for design deliverables across assigned projects.
- Drive closure of actions, risk mitigation, and design changes to meet program milestones and commitments.
Manufacturing & Shop Floor Support
- Support prototype builds and early hardware introduction with manufacturing and suppliers.
- Lead or support validation and troubleshooting of equipment on the shop floor to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operation.
Continuous Improvement & Special Projects
- Lead or participate in special projects to improve tooling design processes, standard work, documentation, and quality.
- Identify opportunities to simplify, standardize, and improve support equipment solutions across modules and programs.
Customer & Field Support
- Provide occasional on-site support at manufacturing or partner locations for equipment validations, issue resolution, or implementation of improvements (occasional travel required).

Additional Information
The base pay range for this position is $112,000.00 - $171,350.00 annually. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus based on a percentage of your base salary/ commission based on the plan. This posting is expected to close on May 8th, 2026.
