Position Summary

Credence has an immediate need for a Cybersecurity Specialist at the senior level who will be primarily responsible for supporting Rapid Sustainment Office (AFLCMC/RO) at Wright Patterson AFB, OH.

RSO’s mission is to advance the SECAF’s direction and “…leverage mature, new, and emerging technology to reduce sustainment costs and improve readiness…” The RSO will play a role in sustainment analogous to a research laboratory in development.  Its customer base, the logistics and sustainment enterprises, should come to view RSO as their center of excellence for identifying, maturing, and transitioning technologies with traceable and measurable readiness impacts, cost reductions, and ease of use. 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the duties listed below:

  • Perform RMF activities leading to system RMF acceptance in accordance with DoDI 8510.01, NIST 800-series special publications, USAF policy and instructions, and applicable guidance for RSO IT systems in networked, stand-alone, and cloud configurations.
  • Apply previous Certification and Accreditation (C&A) experience, including RMF, for Air Force and DoD information systems.
  • Implement and enforce IT security policies and procedures, and review IT security requirements to determine impact to existing procedures.
  • Execute RMF system requirements, identify vulnerabilities and risks of IT systems, and develop get-well plans for deficiencies that cannot be immediately corrected.
  • Recommend cybersecurity and RMF solutions with little or no supervision.
  • Accomplish system categorization, security control selection, security control implementation, security control assessment, and security control monitoring on a system-by-system basis in accordance with DoDI 8510.01.
  • Develop, review, and update documentation required to achieve RMF accreditation for each system.
  • Apply currently accepted methods for documenting RMF status of each system within the DoD environment.
  • Coordinate RMF tasks associated with the effort with the RSO cybersecurity lead.
  • Comply with DoD and Air Force RMF policies, including but not limited to DoDI 8500.01 Cybersecurity, DoDI 8510.01 Risk Management Framework for DoD Information Technology, DoD 8570.01-M Information Assurance Training, Certification, and Workforce Management, CNSSI 1253 Security Categorization and Control Selection for National Security Systems, NIST 800-series Special Publications including SP 800-53, and Air Force Instruction Series 17 Cyberspace.

Requirements
  • Must have an active or current Secret clearance.
  • Master’s or Doctorate degree in a related field and ten (10) years of experience in the respective technical/professional discipline being performed, five (5) years of which must be in the DoW/DoD
  • OR bachelor’s degree in a related field and twelve (12) years of experience in the respective technical/professional discipline being performed, five (5) years of which must be in the DoW/DoD
  • OR fifteen (15) years of directly related experience with proper certifications as described in the PWS labor category performance requirements, eight (8) years of which must be in the DoD.
  • Related major fields of study may include computer science, information science, information systems management, mathematics, statistics, operations research, or computer/electrical engineering.
  • Experience must be directly related to the work requested in the job description and must meet the years defined in the applicable skill level definition.
