This position is responsible to research, analyze and report technology and its trends in the areas of User eXperience (UX) and Software Defined Vehicle (SDV) for automotive applications. The responsibility includes (but not limited to) comprehensive analysis of the detailed technology and related trends, identify applicable strategies, and overview the impacts on the automotive industry and Magna.

Job Introduction
This position is responsible to research, analyze and report technology and its trends in the areas of User eXperience (UX) and Software Defined Vehicle (SDV) for automotive applications. The responsibility includes (but not limited to) comprehensive analysis of the detailed technology and related trends, identify applicable strategies, and overview the impacts on the automotive industry and Magna.
Major Responsibilities
- Identify and analyze industry-wide trends on UX and SDV.
- Investigate state-of-the-art technologies and technology trends in related areas.
- Additionally investigate connectivity technology and Internet of Things (IoT) solutions that can enable and/or improve UX and SDV applications in automotive products.
- Predict and analyze technical evolutions in these areas from the view of integration with current automotive engineering and products.
- Analyze associated trends such as subscription-based business model and data monetization.
- Investigate business strategies of auto-manufacturers on digital transformation and differentiation on features & functions of vehicle products.
- Research new technologies, features & functions, use cases, and business models introduced by new entrants such as start-ups, IT giants, and semi-conductor companies.
- Research emerging demands for UX and SDV applications in transitioning to CAEVs (Connected Automated Electric Vehicles): demands from end-consumers, MaaS providers, and other transportation companies such as delivery providers.
- Act as a subject matter expert on UX and SDV technologies, providing precise and timely information of the technologies and trends.
- Interpret and analyze industry-wide impacts of UX & SDV evolutions to the greatest extent possible.
- Report and present findings on the trends and topic-specific analyses to facilitate understanding of the impact on automotive products, with special emphasis on relevance to Magna operating units.
- Work with globally located colleagues in R&D and Core Product Managers in Magna business units to facilitate their technology & product strategy developments.
- Support Senior management, Corporate Engineering R&D, Corporate Marketing, and Magna groups with topic-specific consultation.
Knowledge and Education
- Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field (Master's Degree in communication technology, electric/electronic engineering, or software engineering is preferred)
Work Experience
- Must have minimum 7 years' experience on UX, SDV, connectivity solution, IVI application, cloud service, and/or telematics
- Experience on automotive applications in IT company and/or UX/UI supplier is highly preferred
- Experience on manufacturing and traditional automotive engineering such as powertrain, chassis, and body will NOT be considered as relevant experience
- Proven work record in the area that requires comprehensive understanding about automotive technology and markets is a plus

Work Environment
- Must be able to travel both domestic and international (less than 20% travel)
- Must be able to accommodate a normal amount of sitting or standing and moving around an office environment, and able to conduct normal amount of work at a computer. Vision abilities required by this position include close vision and ability to adjust focus.
