Security Specialist - Systems Administrator
About the Role:
The Global Security –Security Specialist - System Administrator is responsible for carrying out system administration and technical duties on facility access control systems in line with industry standards, to ensure operational and system integrations globally. The position carries dual responsibilities in maintaining CrowdStrike’s security program and access control systems by enforcing formalized security processes, policies, and procedures for personnel and facilities to reduce security vulnerabilities.
Primary Relationships:
The Global Security – Security Specialist - System Administrator works under the Manager of Global Security who reports directly to the Senior Director of Global Security and with department personnel across all CrowdStrike divisions. The position consists primarily of internal company relationships with some external vendor communications. You must have a passion for physical security processes, technology, and complex systems, and can demonstrate extensive experience, knowledge, skills and abilities directly related to system administration, network vulnerabilities, network maintenance, access control and VSS platforms, security expansion and build design, and office security.
Due to the nature of the work, the position may require additional work hours during an incident, crisis, or event.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities (includes but not limited to):
Facilitate and communicate CrowdStrike’s access control and VSS program under the Senior Security Specialist for all facilities and ensure team members are assisting visitors and verifying rights to access
Deliver security instructions related to IT system administration and network configurations to other security team members
Assist in the facilities security framework of new CrowdStrike offices, and the expansion of existing offices, coordinating across a variety of vendors and CrowdStrike Departments
Ensure inoperable security systems are properly documented, service repairs are generated immediately, and compensatory measures are in place through issue resolution
Support the cultivation of a robust physical and personnel security training program for system support
Manage the problem resolution process for incidents within the department, ensuring all relevant information is captured and be responsible for escalation to higher level resolver groups including the solution provider
Administer all aspects of personnel security including processing access control requests, initiating and reviewing clearance actions and supporting employee and security briefings
Identify and inform management of issues, risks, and improvement opportunities through the conduct of weekly, and monthly audits
Assist in developing documentation such as standard operating procedures
Assist in developing and implementing security indoctrination policies and procedures aligning to industry standards and legislation
Review and update current access control methods to ensure the access database is accurate at all times
Monitor camera feeds for entrances, common areas, and IDF rooms for all CrowdStrike facilities worldwide
Work in direct coordination with CrowdStrike networking and IT departments to confirm all requirements and standards are met
Prepare logs and/or reports in accordance with departmental requirements and ad hoc management requests
Review and update current communication methods and provide proactive solutions to ensure communication is open, honest and responsive in all situations, to the extent authorized
Secure a cultural understanding of security among all CrowdStrike personnel
Create and process new employee/contractor facility access accounts and control cards
Promptly remove facility access control for terminated or departing employees.

Preferred Qualifications & Skills:
Excellent technical, interpersonal, and analytic skills with the ability to communicate physical security concepts to technical as well as non-technical audiences
Microsoft or Cisco networking certification (or certification prep in progress) or similar experience a plus
Working knowledge of firewalls, routers, switches, and wireless access points
Working knowledge of packet analysis tools
Working knowledge of authentication and monitoring protocol
Experience with user provisioning and access management processes
Experience in supporting training development and logistics
Proven ability to work independently with efficiency and flexibility
Former military/law enforcement experience, 5 years minimum a plus
Experience with implementing security measures including Access Control, Visual Surveillance Systems (VSS) and Intruder Detection Systems (IDS), 5 years minimum
Experience with operating physical security systems, including Access Control, Visual Surveillance Systems (VSS) and Intruder Detection Systems (IDS), 5 years minimum
First Aid and CPR certified
Required Experience/Qualifications:
Experience in defining, implementing and ensuring risk-based standards, processes and procedures for responding to Global Security events
Must be willing to travel occasionally to support network deployments in remote locations
Ability to work nights and weekends during a crisis event
