Job Description
Discover Financial Services is looking for Senior Certification & Support Consultant to coordinate certification system readiness and test script development for the Discover and Diners Club International (DCI) networks.
The Consultant will collaborate with US- and UK-based Business Technology (BT) teams and participant-facing certification project managers (PMs) to deliver test scripts and documents, manage and enhance testing tools, resolve testing issues with the support of BT, and provide training to PMs and account executives, as needed. Testing activities span all network technology, from core network systems (authorizations, interchange, and disputes) to a variety of payments-related functions, products and services. The Consultant will manage multiple simultaneous projects, and will be responsible for collaborating with Product Owners, the Project Management Office (PMO), vendors, peers and management to plan and prioritize work.
This position is in Payment Operations and may be located in the Farnborough, UK, or a United States location.
Responsibilities
Responsible for completion of the certification process for all client types across all interfaces. Includes direct interaction and coordination of efforts with Account Executives, Clients, BT, and Vendors.
Supports the development efforts for all certification-related systems, such as the Release Compliance Tool (RCT) and all of the test environments for each interface.
Assists with the compliance-monitoring process, including exception requests, transactional monitoring, client reporting, and monitoring.
Develops and completes ongoing reporting and process documentation for all functions supported within the department.
Engages in the use of LEAN tools and methodologies to determine root-cause and resolution of issues, and implements identified changes.
Participates in semi-annual and off-cycle releases by assisting with creating and implementing full certification project plans. Plans to include script creation for all interfaces.
Manage the end-to-end certification environment setup vprocess for all client types across all interfaces, including direct interaction and coordination of efforts with external clients and third-party vendors, and system engineers, and technology subject matter experts (SMEs).
Deliver to network participants comprehensive and accurate test plans, scripts, and documentation within PMO-managed semi-annual timeframes or, occasionally, offcycle to meet client or business needs.
Identify and deliver workflow, reporting or other automation enhancements to simplify work, reduce costs, improve the certification experience, etc.
Collaborate with Product Owners and PMO to create and implement effective project plans.
Work with client and DCI SMEs to identify and resolve test defects, system failures, and configuration issues, directly coordinating efforts or submitting service tickets where appropriate.
Report progress and otherwise communicate effectively with assigned account executives, team coordinators and management.
Ensure all project work is completed within appropriate SLAs and that validation and approval steps are performed, as required.
Provide peer reviews, feedback and project support to peers, as needed.
Identify, plan and delivery process improvement projects to increase the effectiveness of internal practices and increase customer satisfaction. Contribute to the development and maintenance of process documents, project guides, templates, etc.
Support compliance monitoring and audit preparation (e.g., proper project documentation).
Minimum Qualifications
At a minimum, here’s what we need from you:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Tech, Finance, Engineering, or related field
Strong project management skills with experience managing multiple concurrent, multi-faceted projects through the entire project life cycle.
Functional knowledge of essential payment industry systems (i.e., authorizations, interchange, disputes) and financial products and services, including especially
Experience working in a highly regulated environment and performing responsible risk-management in day-to-day activities, such as adhering to documented standards and procedures.
Cross-functional knowledge of the Payment Network Industry focusing on technology support and operations
