About the role
We are looking for a seasoned engineering leader and leader ready to build our rapidly-growing organization’s IT program from the ground up. You will leverage your significant experience to build thoughtful processes and guide cross-functional teams (including stakeholders inside and outside of IT) to achieve outcomes across IAM and application management, hardware management, general end-user support, and more.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and constantly improve IT infrastructure and IT systems, such as SSO, email, chatops, collaboration, and more, identifying trends and issues proactively.
- Clearly communicate changes in policy, technology, access, and experience early, often, and as needed to stakeholders.
- Enable employees through live and recorded trainings and written guides.
- Initiate and manage projects related to deploy, improving, and sunsetting technologies and procedures.
- Design and implement highly-automated access provisioning and deprovisioning processes in accordance with IAM best practices.
- Lead application management strategy, including defining responsibilities for application owners across the organization and the unification of SaaS solutions under Okta.
- Oversee hardware distribution/collection and maintenance, asset inventory, and endpoint management processes, including peripherals and office technology.
- Develop and maintain processes for resolving Starburst employees’ IT issues, while delivering a stellar experience.
- Design and implement IT-security compliance controls.
- Develop and maintain excellent documentation, both to support internal IT processes and to guide end-users.
- Develop and implement IT policies and procedures for areas such as architecture, business continuity, technology standards, and purchasing.
- Negotiate and maintain relationships with vendors and consultants, and maintain service agreements.
- Mentor team members and others in both technology and their career, identifying areas of opportunity for training and skills advancement.
Requirements:
- Experience maintaining enterprise IAM (identity and access management) systems, integrating with directories, supporting RBAC best practices, and implementing SSO. Experience using Okta is preferred.
- Experience managing other core applications, including hosted productivity and communications applications like Google Workspace, Jira/Confluence, Slack, and Zoom.
- Experience building and maintaining ticket workflows.
- Experience managing hardware and software in PC and Mac environments, including patching and software deployment.
- Deep, demonstrated understanding of change management best practices.
- Excellent communication skills and solution-oriented attitude.
- 3+ years experience in an ITIL based environment.
- 3+ years maintaining systems, including using scripting and automation.
- 1-3 years in a lead or management role.
- Technical certifications in Server Administration, Endpoint Management, Networking are a plus.
- Fundamental understanding of Firewalls/Switches/Routers/Wi-Fi configuration.
- Manage at least one full time employee.
