Information Systems and Cyber Division (ISCD) staff couple the latest in information system technologies, such as elastic compute clouds, containerization, microservices, real-time operating systems, and visualization frameworks, with expertise in cyber security, software architecture, software engineering, process improvement, and software development to deliver responsive, resilient, high-performance software intensive systems to our IC, DoD, and civilian customers.
The Aerospace Corp. is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead our Data Exploration Technologies section in the Analytics Software Department!
What You'll Be Doing
- Provide technical and managerial leadership to develop, maintain, and apply organizational expertise to the data engineering and architectures challenges across the corporation
- Recruit, hire, mentor, and lead technology experts and developers to provide the corporation with cutting edge solutions and prototypes demonstrating the state-of-the-art in the domain
- Develop and maintain relationships with program offices in order to propose pathfinder projects to sustain the department's activities
- Assign resources, determine staffing needs, and coordinate activities and operations among subordinate units
- Communicate and coordinate activities with counterpart organizations, management, and customers
- Provide in-depth technical review and direction of activities performed by the section
- Provide effective management of staff to include performance evaluations and personnel career growth
What You Need to be Successful
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's or advanced degree in Computer Scienceor a related technical discipline
- Eight or more years of experience in a software engineering discipline and strong knowledge of data engineering and architectures
- Fluency in at least one programming language (C++, Java, or similar) and one scripting language (Python, JavaScript, or similar)
- Extensive knowledge of data engineering and analytics tools, cloud data stores, and interactive notebooks
- Experience in microservice architecture patterns and cloud deployment
- Demonstrated initiative and excellent leadership skills, with proven ability to build and manage effective development teams
- Proven ability to establish and maintain effective interpersonal and working relationships with various levels of corporate staff, peers, management, program offices, customers, and contractors
- This position requires ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, which is issued by the US government. U.S citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.
How You Can Stand Out
It would be impressive if you have one or more of these:
- Master's degree or higher in Computer Science or a related field
- Current and active Top Secret/SCI security clearance
- Familiarity with Amazon Web Services, Azure, serverless computing, and cloud deployment
- Experience with distributed data domain architectures/virtualization, API Gateways, platform monitoring tools.

$98,294 - $159,916 - $221,537
