Job Summary
The Cybersecurity IAM Analyst I supports the cybersecurity program by executing defined IAM and data security processes, including user access management, data classification and protection, and secure configuration of SharePoint and other data repository environments.
This role is part of the Identity and Access Management team and works closely with security engineering, IT teams, and business stakeholders to ensure:
- Access is granted based on least privilege
- Collaboration platforms are built securely
- Sensitive data is classified, protected, and monitored appropriately
The analyst operates under general supervision and escalates complex, high‑risk, or non‑standard scenarios as needed.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Identity & Access Management Support
- Review and triage user access requests to ensure alignment with security standards and least‑privilege principles.
- Support onboarding, role changes, and offboarding by ensuring access is provisioned and deprovisioned accurately.
- Identify access issues or entitlement concerns.
- Document access workflows, approvals, and ownership to support audit and compliance efforts.
- Partner with IT and business teams to ensure timely and accurate fulfillment of access requests.
Data Security & Risk Initiatives
- Support data security initiatives such as data classification, labeling, protection and monitoring efforts.
- Assist with building, configuring, and securing SharePoint sites and other approved document repositories using approved access models and governance standards.
- Validate that SharePoint libraries are configured with appropriate permissions, group-based access, and data protection controls.
- Help identify potential data exposure risks within collaboration platforms and document findings.
- Participate in testing and validation of data protection controls during new deployments or changes.
- Work with data owners and business stakeholders to promote secure data handling and collaboration practices.
Additional Responsibilities
- Contribute to continuous improvement of IAM and data security processes, documentation, and standards.
- Support audits, access reviews, and evidence gathering as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information security, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Foundational understanding of cybersecurity concepts and identity and access management concepts.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skill with attention to detail.
- Ability to follow established processes and escalate issues appropriately.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
Preferred
- Exposure to IAM concepts such as provisioning, access reviews, least privilege, or role-based access.
- Familiarity with data security, data governance, or compliance principles.
- Experience supporting or securing Microsoft 365 services such as SharePoint, Teams, or Entra ID in an enterprise environment.
