JOB PURPOSE

This role exists to drive category and channel growth by transforming shopper, customer and market insights into winning commercial strategies and trade marketing plans that accelerate profitable growth for both Unilever and its retail partners. The Customer Strategy & Trade Marketing Manager plays a critical role in connecting category and brand ambitions with customer needs, ensuring best-in-class execution across channels while strengthening Unilever’s leadership position in the Foods category.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and implement customer, channel, and category growth strategies aligned with business objectives and category priorities.

  • Translate category and brand ambitions into actionable commercial plans that drive sustainable and profitable growth.

  • Leverage shopper, customer, and market insights to identify growth opportunities, mitigate risks, and inform strategic decision-making.

  • Create compelling category and portfolio selling stories that strengthen customer partnerships and support business growth.

  • Design and execute shopper-centric trade marketing programs that increase brand penetration, visibility, and category performance.

  • Drive excellence across key commercial levers including promotions, assortment, merchandising, and in-store execution.

  • Partner with Customer Development teams to build and support Joint Business Plans, category reviews, and customer growth initiatives.

  • Monitor category, customer, and channel performance, evaluating trade investment effectiveness and recommending optimization opportunities.

  • Lead cross-functional projects in collaboration with Marketing, Revenue Growth Management, Finance, Supply Chain, and Customer Development teams.

  • Champion a customer-centric and shopper-first mindset while fostering collaboration and alignment across stakeholders.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum 4 years of experience within FMCG in Customer Strategy & Planning, Trade Marketing, Category Management, Shopper Marketing, Revenue Growth Management, Customer Development, or related commercial functions.

  • Proven experience working with major modern trade customers and supporting customer growth strategies.

  • Strong understanding of category management principles, shopper behavior, and trade marketing execution.

  • Demonstrated ability to translate data and insights into actionable commercial recommendations and business plans.

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Marketing, or a related field, with fluency in both English and Polish.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience supporting Joint Business Planning and strategic customer engagements within a leading FMCG organization.

  • Advanced analytical and storytelling skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders through data-driven recommendations.

  • Proven track record of leading cross-functional projects and driving business results in complex, matrix environments.
