Job Responsibilities:

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsible for proper handling, storage, packing, preservation and delivery of both material and product paper work instructions plans utilizing TS16949 & ISO14001 documented systems and authority to initiate appropriate action necessary to prevent non-conformance to customer specifications

Develop thorough familiarization with Quality and Environmental Management Systems and manufacturing processes

Problem-solve using advanced statistical techniques (probability, capability, etc.)

Interface directly with customer Quality, Engineering, and Purchasing representatives

Work closely with internal Quality, Engineering and Manufacturing team members

Audit systems for compliance and Continuous Improvement opportunities

Seek process improvement and cost reduction opportunities

Participate in APQP (Advance Product Quality Planning) activities

Participate in PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) activities

Review control plans and documentation with production, updating where applicable

Assist with and provide training on Quality Systems, including SPC (Statistical Process Control)

Field associate questions on SPC and customer quality concerns

Housekeeping and other activities as assigned

SAFETY, HEALTH, & ENVIRONMENT:

Support and comply with all TS16949 & ISO14001 procedures and work instructions.

Support a safe and healthful work environment that is free of recognized hazards for all employees, contractors and visitors

Cooperate with all local, state and federal agencies, such as OSHA or the EPA, in the event of an inspection.

Know and follow all applicable SH&E Rules, Policies and Procedures.

EDUCATION:

High School Diploma required

Bachelor’s degree preferred

College-level courses and technical background in quality and/or statistical sciences

Combination of job experience and education equivalent to four-year degree

TECHNICAL EDUCATION:

SPC (Statistical Process Control)

FMEA (Failure Mode Effect Analysis)

GD & T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance)

PERFORMANCE MEASURES:

Performance Evaluation

Key Operating Indicators (KOI’s)

Safety Compliance

5S

Quality

Attendance

Punctuality

QUALIFICATIONS:

2 – 4 years Quality experience required

Manufacturing/machine operation, preferably in automotive

Quality Technician experience

Statistics

GD & T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance)

SKILLS:

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Ability to read, write, and speak English

Good people skills

Technical math skills required

Excellent attention to detail

Ability to meet deadlines

Ability to conduct effective meetings and instructional classes

Excellent problem-solving ability

Available to work additional hours as needed

EQUIPMENT/TOOLS:

Ability to access data stored on LAN (Local Area Network) and PC (Personal Computer)

Common office equipment (i.e. PC, facsimile, copier, etc.)

Precise measuring equipment including verniers, calipers, micrometers, or other equipment used to measure product quality and conformance to customer specifications

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Ability to move throughout the plant

Extended sitting and standing; reaching and bending.

Occasional lifting of up to 40 lbs. may be required

Loud work environment; compliance with personal protective equipment as required

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

Occasional travel with overnight stay may be required

Shift - Flexible (1st,2nd,3rd)
