The Customer & Partner Engagement Manager (CPEM), sits in the SME&C Executive Office, reporting to the Customer & Partner Engagement Lead. The role translates executive priorities into high-impact customer and partner engagements that deliver measurable business outcomes.
About the Role
In this role, you orchestrate executive engagements that strengthen relationships with our key customers and accelerate partner-led growth across our ecosystem; ensuring commitments turn into action. By working across SME&C, Microsoft’s Commercial Business (MCB), and the broader Microsoft network, you enable teams to deliver high-quality, outcome-focused interactions, all whilst ensuring consistency, clarity, and accountability.

Responsibilities
1. Customer & Partner Engagement
Orchestrate end-to-end executive engagements—ensuring each interaction is purposeful, insight-driven, and tied to clear business outcomes
Prepare and coach segment teams and stakeholders to deliver high-impact, outcome-focused engagements
Own cross-functional follow-up and lead debriefs—driving accountability and measuring follow-through
Manage escalations with clarity and pace—simplifying complexity and aligning the right stakeholders effectively
Manage a portfolio of CPE projects, including, but not limited to, planning flagship customer and partner moments and designing and delivering impactful experiences
Support planning and execution of external engagements during executive country visits—ensuring local relevance, partner representation, and measurable outcomes
2. Business Program Excellence & Strategic Execution
Partner with key stakeholders to bring a point of view on focus areas, market trends, and opportunities—drawing on customer, partner, and field signals
Drive operational excellence by designing robust processes and ensuring quality to support external engagement goals
Identify and scope opportunities to develop new programs and improve current ones
Share expertise to evangelize highly complex programs to stakeholders, using research to identify opportunities to articulate Microsoft's unique value proposition
Lead strategic projects supporting the EVP & CRO agenda, with a focus on growth acceleration and ecosystem scale
3. AI-First Mindset & Innovation
Apply AI and new ways of working to improve preparation, insight generation, follow-through, and the overall quality of executive engagements
Work across SME&C, MCB, and the wider Microsoft organisation to identify, test, and adopt new ways to optimise processes, content, and programmes
Act as a change agent for AI-enabled productivity across executive engagement workflows
Qualifications
Required/minimum qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Operations, Finance, or related field AND 6+ years’ experience in program management, process management, or process improvement OR equivalent experience.
Additional or preferred qualifications
Master's Degree in Business, Operations, Finance, or related field AND 8+ years’ experience in program management, process management, or process improvement OR Bachelor's Degree in Business, Operations, Finance, or related field AND 12+ years’ experience in program management, process management, or process improvement OR equivalent experience.
Operational Excellence — Experience designing and running repeatable and scalable processes, content, and quality standards.
Business Maturity — Experience supporting senior leadership in day-to-day business operations, including rhythm of business and decision support.
Strategic Execution & Critical Judgement — Ability to connect engagements to business strategy and apply analytical judgement to assess risk, scrutinise detail, and frame ambiguous or complex issues in support of executive decision-making.
Executive Communication — Experience in executive-ready writing, presentation development, and the ability to distil complex information into clear, concise messaging for audiences.
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Influence — Ability to build trusted relationships and lead through influence across, geographically distributed teams, navigating organisational complexity without direct authority.

Working Knowledge of Microsoft's Commercial Business — Familiarity with Microsoft's Commercial Business, partner ecosystem, and customer engagement motions.
Customer & Partner Experience — understanding of external interactions, with the ability to balance customer, partner, and internal priorities in engagement strategies that connect customer and partner outcomes to Microsoft priorities.
Business Program Management IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across Canada is CAD $128,000 - CAD $222,400 per year.
