Summary:
As a Functional Test Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality, reliability, and functionality of SAP Utilities Energy Data Management (EDM) and Device Management solutions. Your typical day will involve analyzing business requirements, creating test scenarios and test cases, executing functional and integration testing, identifying and tracking defects, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality business solutions. You will leverage testing best practices and agile methodologies to validate system enhancements and ensure business processes function as expected.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Expected to be a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in SAP Utilities EDM and Device Management testing.
Collaborate and manage the team to execute testing activities effectively.
Responsible for testing-related decisions and quality assurance deliverables.
Engage with multiple teams and contribute to key testing and release decisions.
Provide solutions to testing challenges for their immediate team and across multiple teams.
Design, develop, and execute functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end test cases.
Identify, log, track, and validate defect fixes through closure.
Mentor junior team members to enhance their testing skills and domain knowledge.
Facilitate regular team meetings to ensure alignment on testing progress, project goals, and quality metrics.
Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and coordinate with business stakeholders for sign-off activities.
Ensure traceability between business requirements, test scenarios, and test execution results.
Professional & Technical Skills
Must Have Skills:
Proficiency in SAP for Utilities Energy Data Management (EDM) and Device Management.
Strong experience in Functional Testing, System Integration Testing (SIT), Regression Testing, and UAT Support.
Experience in test planning, test case design, test execution, and defect management.
Strong understanding of Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC) and Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
Familiarity with Agile testing methodologies and tools.
Ability to analyze business requirements and translate them into comprehensive test scenarios.
Good to Have Skills:
Knowledge of SAP IS-U processes and integrations related to Metering, Device Management, and Energy Data Management.
Experience with test management and defect tracking tools such as JIRA, HP ALM, or similar platforms.
Exposure to test automation concepts and regression test suite maintenance.
Understanding of smart meter, meter reading, device lifecycle, and energy consumption validation processes.

Additional Information:
The candidate should have a minimum of 5 years of experience in SAP Utilities Energy Data Management (EDM) and Device Management Functional Testing.
This position is based at our Pune office.
A 15 years full-time education is required.
