Summary:
As a Functional Test Engineer, a typical day involves ensuring the quality and reliability of SAP Utilities Customer Financial Management (FICA) solutions through comprehensive testing activities. The role requires analyzing business requirements, designing and executing test scenarios, validating system functionality, identifying defects, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure successful delivery of business solutions. You will work in an agile environment to support high-quality releases and ensure that solutions meet both functional and business expectations.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Expected to be a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in SAP Utilities FICA testing.
Collaborate with business analysts, developers, and project teams to understand requirements and define test strategies.
Responsible for planning, designing, executing, and reporting functional, integration, regression, and user acceptance testing activities.
Engage with multiple teams and contribute to quality assurance decisions across projects.
Identify, track, and manage defects through resolution and closure.
Provide solutions to testing challenges for the immediate team and across multiple teams.
Lead efforts to identify and implement testing process improvements to enhance quality and efficiency.
Support end-to-end business process validation and system integration testing.
Mentor junior testers by providing guidance, best practices, and knowledge-sharing sessions.
Coordinate cross-functional communication to ensure alignment with project goals and timely delivery of releases.
Professional & Technical Skills
Must Have Skills:
Proficiency in SAP for Utilities Customer Financial Management (FICA).
Strong experience in Functional Testing, System Integration Testing (SIT), Regression Testing, and UAT Support.
Experience in preparing test plans, test scenarios, test cases, and test execution reports.
Strong knowledge of Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC) and Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
Expertise in defect management, test execution, and test reporting.
Familiarity with Agile methodologies and testing practices.
Good to Have Skills:
Knowledge of SAP IS-U business processes and FICA integrations.
Experience with test management and defect tracking tools such as ALM, JIRA, or similar platforms.
Exposure to automation testing concepts and regression test suite management.
Understanding of end-to-end utility billing, invoicing, payments, collections, and customer account management processes.

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to work effectively across multiple teams and business functions.
Additional Information:
The candidate should have a minimum of 5 years of experience in SAP Utilities Customer Financial Management (FICA) Functional Testing.
This position is based at our Bhubaneswar office.
A 15 years full-time education is required.
