Curriculum Manager

At Babbel we’re piloting a new kind of Intensive German (Integration) Course, one that blends live lessons, app-based learning, and AI-powered conversation tools to help learners reach B1 faster, more affordably, and more effectively. We’re hiring a Curriculum Manager to lead the design and rollout of our B1 Course.
You will:
- Designing a full B1 curriculum for German learners, aligned to CEFR and BAMF guidelines in several formats (e.g. Intensive / Super Intensive).
- Mapping our Babbel app content to the core curriculum, identifying gaps and supplementing as needed.
- Designing or curating task-based materials that push learners toward real-world communication goals.
- Integrating curriculum across modalities including: self-study, live lessons,and AI conversation partners.
- Build trust with our teachers and create an effective feedback loop to be able to iterate on content as it’s rolled out.
- Collaborating with product, teacher ops, and engineering teams to ensure smooth implementation in our LMS and app ecosystem.
- Iterating based on feedback from learners, teachers, and learning outcomes.
- Maintaining quality and version control of materials using CAT / instructional design tools and our internal content systems.
- Act as a bridge between curriculum and tech teams, ensuring alignment and communication flows effectively from planning through delivery.
You have:
- Proven experience designing German language curricula that successfully take learners to B1.
- Experience or deep knowledge of the BAMF integration course set up and approved curriculum (e.g. Schritte).
- Proficiency in CAT tools and other instructional design tools (e.g., Adobe Captivate, Lectora).
- Experience working with LMS systems and curriculum/content mapping tools.
- Strong command of German (C1) and English (C1) both for content creation and cross-functional collaboration.
- Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Strong communication skills, including experience collaborating across functions such as IT, Curriculum, Customer Service, Product, and Engineering.
