Condé Nast Italy is looking for an experienced and open-minded Culture & News Editor to join the Editorial team of Vanity Fair. The role is responsible for producing culture-related contents, news and innovative formats for the Vanity Fair brand. The role reports to the Digital Director of Vanity Fair Italy, and will play a key role in helping shape Vanity Fair’s voice and helping to execute the European Director’s vision through the brand’s media
Primary Responsibilities
Write and edit Culture related stories for Vanity Fair’s print and digital platforms, from daily news hits to larger features and exclusives
Write and edit Culture related stories, primarily for Vanity Fair Italia (digital and print) but also develop stories that can be used across the VF network (France, Spain, US and UK)
Conceive, propose, and develop innovative editorial formats and projects aligned with evolving audience behaviors and the brand’s business goals
Stay abreast of any and all industry developments and news to ensure that coverage of Culture across print and digital is both informed and unique
Contribute to the social, digital and video strategy for the brand, whether ideating on projects, helping to propose or secure talent (along with The Talent Group)
Work with the Deputy Editor in Chief, the Executive Digital Director and the Audience Development Manager to best leverage global syndication opportunities
Assign, edit and write daily content and manage a team of freelancers writers
Propose, write and edit the other sections related stories for Vanity Fair’s print and digital platforms, from news hits to larger features and exclusives
Primary Skills & Qualifications
4+ years of previous, proven experience as an editor, journalist, or content lead in News, Culture, or Digital media
Professional fluency in Italian and English, written and spoken
Strong editorial judgment and a solid understanding of current affairs, politics, culture, and societal issues
Excellent writing, editing, and storytelling skills, with the ability to work under tight deadlines
Interest in the areas of Vanity Fair (News, Cinema, Culture, Lifestyle) but also cross-functional skills with respect to areas of journalism (Foreign, Economics, Politics, Science)
Experience coordinating teams, managing editorial workflows, and leading meetings or content planning sessions
Ability to mentor and develop journalistic talent, offering constructive guidance on content quality and direction
Familiarity with digital publishing, content management systems, and multi-platform distribution strategies
Creative mindset with the ability to envision and execute new editorial formats, events, and partnerships
Strong organizational and communication skills, with a collaborative and proactive approach
