The Role

Job Purpose

The Customer Strategy and Planning (CSP) & Marketing Senior Manager is responsible for leading the category Integrated Business Plan (IBP) process, coordinating brand audits, and creating brand marketing plans at the category level. This role ensures the perfect execution of agreed strategies, including launches, relaunches, and activations, and leads corrective actions to achieve targets. The position proactively drives the simplification of processes and projects, holds Profit and Loss (P&L) ownership for the category, and actively contributes to the delivery of the CZSK organization.

This is a board-level related position, giving you direct exposure to the CZSK Leadership Team and regular interaction with the General Manager, Customer Development, Finance, and Marketing Directors. You will lead strategy and marketing for some of Unilever’s most iconic brands, including Hellmann’s and Knorr.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and execute the full marketing plan, ensuring an effective media channel mix and investment model.
- Own the category’s annual activity calendar.
- Allocate Underlying Sales Growth (USG) targets and investments to deliver category strategy by customer and channel.
- Define budgets by channel and customer to deliver PBO (Profit Before Overheads) targets.
- Deliver business wins in strategic cells.
- Own the country-level portfolio strategy, including channel execution.
- Deploy strategically aligned commercial plans in the market with Customer Business Development (CBD), including Shopper/Digital Marketing.
- Lead category development projects with major customers.
- Own the full Net Revenue Management (NRM) agenda for the category (Pricing, Promo, and Mix).
Category Strategy & Insights:
- Own localized Category Growth Stories (CGS) down to channel and customer level.
- Lead customer engagement on category growth and create customer-specific category plans.
- Serve as the voice of customer, category, and shopper, connecting IBP and JBP.
- Deliver current and future shelf/e-shelf enabled by shopper insights and analytics.
- Own retailer assortment optimization.
- Support customer value analysis and create category/channel prioritization in line with NRM principles.
- Serve as the CSP & Marketing lead of the category in the market, ensuring the category has the best fitting, consistent marketing and customer/channel strategy.
- Lead the category IBP process, coordinate brand audits, and brand marketing plan creation.
- Act as a leader and advocate in the market for category growth, managing CSP & marketing teams in the respective category, ensuring market-making strategy, and delivering perfect market execution.
- Execute strategically aligned commercial plans in the market, with category P&L ownership.
- Co-responsible for talent management and upholding the good name of Unilever internally and externally.
Required qualifications:
- FMCG Marketing and CSP background with 10 years experience in leading categories and projects.
- Strong business acumen, customer and consumer orientation, and customer & channel P&L understanding.
- Excellence in NRM and a data-driven mindset.
- Experience in category growth management.
- Ability to connect the dots and see the big picture; strong influencing skills internally and externally.
- Cross-functional experience from different functions.
- Positive growth mindset; passion for leading teams and developing talents; team player.
- Ability and willingness to represent the category and company to external stakeholders.
- Fluency in English and Czech/Slovak.

- Reports to: 1UL CZSK General Manager.
- Member of: CZSK leadership team
- Interacts with: External customers, agencies, and associations.
