Here's what you'll do:
We’re looking for a Cross Dock Operations Manager to oversee all warehouse and delivery activities at our cross dock facility. This role manages scheduling, freight receiving, inventory control, and vehicle maintenance while ensuring safety, efficiency, and compliance. The manager leads a team of employees and supports sales operations by ensuring timely deliveries, accurate order handling, and strong customer service. The ideal candidate is an organized, hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in maintaining a safe, clean, and high-performing operation.
Job Description:
Job Responsibilities:
- Manage all operations conducted at the assigned cross dock, such as the scheduling of customer deliveries, receiving freight, inventory control, maintenance of vehicles.
- General manager administration including, but not limited to, workers compensation, new hire interviewing, conducting training for efficiencies and overall safety culture, etc.
- Enter credits for delivery teams according to payroll deadlines, processing damaged product, and ensuring facility maintenance and cleanliness.
- Directly manages all personnel assigned at the cross dock, possibly including the indirect supervision of third- party employees.
- Supports the sales function in the assigned market with meeting sales goals and properly handling delivery, merchandise and customer service issues.
- Responsibly handle beverage alcohol product.
- Other duties, as assigned by the jobholder’s supervisor, may also be required.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in related field and/or equivalent training and work experience
- Minimum of 5 year of experience in related area and some experience in a supervisory role
- Proficient PC skills using MS Office and other various computer programs including presentation software
- Must be a results-oriented professional with verbal/written communication skills using diplomacy and discretion as well as customer service skills
- Ability to multi-task, work independently and/or within a team, pay attention to detail and meet deadlines
- Analytic and Reporting skills
- Utilize sound judgement and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in fast-paced, high-volume, team environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- 1-3 years of management/supervisory experience
Physical Requirements:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to remain in a stationary position at times; communicate, and operate a computer and telephone
- Occasionally carry & lift up to 65 pounds
- Occasionally reach overhead, squat and bend
- Occasionally walk and stand for extended periods of time
Competencies:
- May help coordinate the work of junior members of the team.
- Resolves issues which are often varied and non-routine. Undertakes analysis and investigation to solve issues.
