Job Description

Job Summary:**
UOB Hong Kong is seeking a highly experienced and driven Director-level Credit Trader to join our Global Markets team. This role involves managing a credit trading book, executing trades, and generating revenue through astute market analysis and risk management within the APAC region.
Job Responsibilities:**
* Manage and actively trade a portfolio of credit products, including corporate bonds and derivatives across various sectors and geographies.
* Develop and execute trading strategies to optimize P&L, managing market risk and liquidity risk effectively.
* Conduct thorough credit research and analysis on corporate issuers, sectors, and market trends to identify trading opportunities and manage risk exposure.
* Provide market commentary and insights to internal stakeholders and clients, demonstrating a deep understanding of credit markets.
* Maintain strong relationships with institutional clients, counterparties, and internal sales teams to facilitate trading activities and expand market share.
* Ensure all trading activities adhere to internal policies, regulatory requirements, and risk limits set by the bank.
* Collaborate with other Global Markets desks, research teams, and risk management functions to optimize cross-asset opportunities and manage overall risk.
* Contribute to the development and implementation of new trading tools, strategies, and market access initiatives.
Job Qualifications:**
* Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related quantitative field. A Master's degree or CFA designation is highly preferred.
* Minimum of 5-10 years of direct experience in credit trading, specifically within an investment bank or financial institution.
* Proven track record of consistent profitability and strong risk management in a credit trading role.
* Extensive knowledge of credit products, market structures, and trading strategies across different credit segments.
* Deep understanding of credit analysis, financial modeling, and valuation techniques.
* Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills.
* Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
* Proficiency in financial market data platforms (e.g., Bloomberg, Refinitiv Eikon) and trading systems.
* Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced, dynamic trading environment.
* Fluency in English is required; proficiency in Cantonese and/or Mandarin is highly advantageous.
