Pay Range

$59,300.00-$81,500.00 Annual

This is the base salary pay range that an applicant can expect to make upon hire.   Pay within this range will vary based upon relevant experience, skills, and education among other factors. In addition, this position is eligible for an incentive bonus. 

This position will report to a Credit Manager and be on a team with six other people. The Credit Risk Analyst will be responsible for performing the credit function to minimize customer payment risk and maximize customer sales and collections.

This position is located at our World Headquarters in downtown Denver, CO (717 17th St.) We do offer free parking or an RTD pass for our employees.

The team operates on a hybrid schedule which is Monday and Fridays are work from home days and Tuesday, Wednesday Thursday in the office.

Your Day-to-Day:

  • Establish and manage credit guidelines and shipments for new and existing customers according to JM policies and procedures.
  • Obtain, review and analyze necessary information to determine customer financial capability and risk, establish credit limits and control shipments within the framework of credit limits for assigned business/customers/region.
  • Set credit limits; single order limits - update application systems as needed.
  • Work with businesses to analyze/recommend sales terms for new and existing customers.
  • Communicate credit information to businesses and collections personnel.
  • Review adequacy of credit limits; review customers approaching their credit limit - anticipate if credit limit should be increased to avoid unnecessary credit holds.
  • Communicate/discuss credit issues and potential high-risk accounts with collections personnel and credit manager.
  • Communicate with/mentor collections specialists to ensure they understand business, customers and any unusual circumstances that affect collections.
  • Develop, communicate and implement JM's credit hold policies and procedures to help ensure sales and related collections are maximized.
  • Review and release shipments on credit hold based on credit worthiness.
  • Work with the businesses to help them use credit as a strategic tool to maximize sales and minimize risk.
  • Provide training, analytical tools and reports to businesses, including sales, marketing, division finance on credit policies and procedures.
  • Provide excellent customer service and support to ensure an effective relationship with customers.
  • Visit key/selected customers to obtain intelligence, build relationships and improve customer service.
  • Assist key/selected customers with business strategies to increase business and customer satisfaction.
  • Continually improve credit granting and monitoring processes to reduce costs and increase internal/external customer satisfaction.
  • Communicate proactively with Regional Credit Manager and Collections Specialists, businesses and customers about credit issues and changes.
  • May be required to perform other related duties as assigned.

What You Bring to the Team:

  • Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 3 years of working experience in a relevant field.
  • Working knowledge of Federal and State statutes governing liens, bonds, bankruptcy, UCC, etc.
  • Working knowledge of credit granting and related analysis.
  • Working knowledge of bad debt analysis and AR aging reports.
  • Strong organization and project management skills.
  • Solid analytical and problem resolution skills.
  • Strong customer service orientation skills.
  • Working knowledge of collections concepts, techniques and regulations.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook.
  • Working knowledge of DSO, CEI and other KPIs and underlying drivers for credit and collections.
  • Working knowledge of capital concepts.
  • Minimal travel required (0 - 10 days per year)
  • Work environment is typical of an office setting.
