The Role

Key Responsibilities

A. Portfolio Monitoring & Early Warning

  • Monitor credit facilities to ensure timely repayments and detect early warning signals of potential default.
  • Track excesses, arrears, past dues, expired facilities, and limit breaches, and escalate as required.
  • Review account behavior to identify abnormal patterns affecting credit performance.

B. Compliance & Credit Condition Tracking

  • Ensure full compliance with credit approval terms, covenants, collateral requirements, and insurance renewals.
  • Follow up on periodic submission of financial statements, stock reports, account statements, and other required documentation.
  • Verify that all credit files contain updated and complete documentation as per policy.

C. Reporting & Analysis

  • Prepare periodic portfolio monitoring reports, including watch‑list reports, covenant compliance updates, and trend analysis.
  • Maintain an accurate database of exceptions, expired documents, and pending approval conditions.
  • Provide timely updates to senior management, Relationship Managers, and the Credit Risk team.

D. Collaboration & Relationship Support

  • Liaise with Business Units, Credit Analysts, Recoveries, Legal, and Operations to address issues on deteriorating accounts.
  • Provide feedback to Relationship Managers regarding account performance and compliance gaps.
  • Participate in credit review meetings and contribute to discussions on portfolio performance.

E. Risk Mitigation & Escalation

  • Escalate high‑risk and deteriorating accounts for immediate intervention.
  • Recommend appropriate mitigation actions such as restructuring, reduction of exposure, or collateral enhancement.
  • Support the Remedial/Recovery team with background information on delinquent accounts.
 

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Reduction in number and value of past-due accounts.
  • Timeliness and accuracy of monitoring reports.
  • Reduction of documentation exceptions.
  • Compliance with regulatory and policy requirements.
  • Effectiveness of early warning signals and escalations.
 

Required Knowledge, Skills & Experience

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum of 2–4 years’ experience in the bank

Technical Skills

  • Strong understanding of credit policies, financial analysis, and loan structures.
  • Ability to interpret financial statements and business performance indicators.
  • Familiarity with banking regulations and reporting requirements.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and banking systems.

  • High attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and report‑writing skills.
  • Strong sense of accountability and integrity.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate across functions.

This position operates in a fast‑paced, risk‑sensitive environment where timely information and proactive action are essential to maintaining the quality of the credit portfolio. The role contributes significantly to reducing Non‑Performing Loans (NPLs) and strengthening credit risk governance.
