Essential Responsibilities and Accountabilities
The successful candidate will work with a team of c.10 experienced mid-level and senior actuaries and insurance professionals. This role offers the opportunity to influence strategic decisions and shape the future of mortgage risk management across Europe. Operating at the intersection of insurance, banking and capital markets, the position provides exposure to a dynamic and rapidly growing industry. The role demands cross-functional collaboration and exposure to senior management with opportunities for progression into leadership positions. The successful candidate will assume responsibility for a broad range of actuarial activities including:
Pricing new transactions
Underwriting new transactions
Monitoring and reporting on the in-force portfolio
Contribute to the teams AI adoption agenda by helping evaluate, implement, and promote AI-enabled improvements to workflows and decision-making
Assist business development team pitching to prospective senior banking clients and legal team with contract negotiations, from an actuarial perspective
Produce high-quality underwriting memos that inform executive decision-making:
Estimate probability of default (frequency) and loss given default (severity) in respect of loan portfolios for use in internal pricing models.
Understand the tranching / structuring of transactions and ensure they are reflected in internal pricing models.
Review and document the characteristics (composition analysis) of loan portfolios on potential transactions.
Develop pricing strategies that optimize risk-adjusted returns and support sustainable growth in the European mortgage / SRT portfolio.
Act as a subject matter expert on European banking and SRT market trends, providing thought leadership to internal teams
Develop expertise in regulatory, rating agency and economic capital frameworks to guide pricing decisions.
Perform quarterly portfolio analysis and deliver strategic insights to senior stakeholders, influencing pricing and capital allocation decisions.

Skills Required
- Actuarial pricing and underwriting experience for credit insurance or mortgage/SRT transactions
- Ability to estimate probability of default (PD/frequency) and loss given default (LGD/severity)
- Experience modelling tranche/structuring impacts in internal pricing models
- Experience performing portfolio composition analysis and quarterly portfolio reporting
- Knowledge of European banking, SRT market trends, and stakeholder engagement
- Familiarity with regulatory, rating agency, and economic capital frameworks for pricing guidance
- Ability to produce high-quality underwriting memos to inform executive decision-making
- Willingness to contribute to AI adoption, evaluate and implement AI-enabled workflow improvements
