Credit Analyst
Huntsman is seeking a Credit Analyst supporting the GBS located in San Jose, Costa Rica.
Job Scope
The jobholder is responsible to perform risk assessments on customer with the understanding of financial ratios and general economic data. He/she will give recommendations and establishments of credit limit within the company policy and approval authority.
In summary, as the Credit Analyst, you will:
- Perform risk assessments on new and existing accounts and make recommendations on the appropriate credit limits, risk categories and credit terms so that well-founded decisions can be taken.
- Make decisions about acceptable credit terms/ credit limits of our customers up to a certain amount.
- Maintain active engagement and negotiation with sales account holders on credit request or issue.
- Monitor and evaluate performance of credit systems for the management of portfolio, credit review, and external scoring tools to ensure information are up to date.
- Gather and analyze economic data to determine the impact on business operations as appropriate.
- Prepare reporting on credit performance and controls as per SOX.
- Perform other projects or special assignments as required.
Qualifications
You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.
The candidate must have an unrestricted right to work for Huntsman in Costa Rica.
Minimum Qualifications
- A university degree in Finance/ Economics and minimum 8 years of experience in credit risk analysis (preferable in a credit insurance, rating agency, banking industry)
- Fluency in English.
- Good negotiation and interpersonal skills.
- Thoroughness, attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Good working knowledge of IT systems (Windows Office, SAP, Power BI) is a plus.
- Knowledge of risk mitigation solutions (e.g. Pledge on assets, bank guarantees, Letter of credits) is a plus.
