Job Description

Job Summary

The Credit Analyst I is responsible for building and maintaining a strong relationship with a portfolio of dealers, understanding their preferences and being able to efficiently restructure loan offers to increase the capture of deals. This team member will drive results in a dynamic work environment by securing quality loans and partnering with sales, funding and other internal departments.

Job Duties

  • Sells company program and negotiates contracts while executing the company’s origination strategy.
  • Utilizes experience and dealer relationships to ensure assigned territory meets or exceed pricing targets, variances, and volume goals.
  • Develops and maintains top dealer satisfaction levels.
  • Reviews credit to ensure compliance with Exeter’s policies & procedures, state & federal regulations and standards. Utilizes credit experience to make appropriate credit decisions or obtain concurrence on pricing, program and policy exceptions.
  • Educate dealers on Exeter’s program and funding requirements to maximize production and ensure optimal funding turnaround time.
  • Ensures office cooperation with other departments to maximize efficiency within the company.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and Work Experience

  • High School Diploma required. College degree preferred.

  • Previous auto finance lending experience preferred.

  • Previous Originations and/or Sales experience preferred.

  • Basic knowledge and understanding of credit bureau information, data on credit applications, indirect lending procedures, lending terminology, and credit laws and regulations.

  • Basic knowledge of auto dealer operations and finance departments.

  • Excellent analytical and mathematical skills.

  • Requires a sound understanding of auto loans and the structure of deals in order to rapidly suggest alternatives.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills, basic mathematical skills and the ability to provide strong customer service.

  • Superior work ethic with ability to work under pressure and self-motivate.
  • Friendly attitude and excellent interpersonal skills.
