Job Title:Credit Analyst IIJob Description:

Summary

As a Credit Analyst II, you will develop analytical and underwriting skills which identify and evaluate all risks associated with commercial credit, including C&I and CRE. This includes identifying and monitoring credit quality trends to assist in the preparation of commercial lending relationship presentations, vendor reviews, annual term loan reviews and other underwriting products as warranted.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Investigates all available sources of credit and financial information 

  • Prepares summaries, presents facts, and offers opinions concerning credit-worthiness

  • Handles moderately complex issues and problems, and refers more complex issues to higher-level staff

  • Possesses solid working knowledge of subject matter 

  • Prepare loan approvals, annual reviews and credit analysis for new requests, in addition to modifications and short term extension of existing loans

  • Prepare and spread business financial statements and cash flows, in addition to personal financial statements and cash flow for personal guarantors. Verify covenant compliance 

  • Conduct analysis on accounts receivable and accounts payable aging reports, work in progress reports, and borrowing base certificates

  • Participate in discussions with direct manager regarding creditworthiness of proposed loan requests

  • Conduct third party research, inclusive of industry reports, personal credit reports, real estate analysis with market assessments, etc as appropriate

  • Prepares reports and handles special assignments as warranted

Qualifications:

  • Possesses solid working knowledge of subject matter

  • Performs work under supervision of direct manager

  • Experience using spreadsheet software

  • Moderate understanding of accounting, statistics, and economics

  • Previous experience as a credit analyst

  • Understanding of commercial credit, market trends, and loan procedures

  • Detail-oriented

  • Ability to analyze and think critically

  • Skills in quantitative analysis

  • Ability to manage time and multitask effectively

  • Ability to communicate effectively

  • Ability to conduct research on financial topics and present accessible reports to colleagues with differing backgrounds

  • Capable of making high-stakes decisions and negotiating effectively, under the guidance of direct manager

  • Ability to establish and maintain internal relationships, as well as strong interpersonal skills

  • Acumen for business

  • Discretion and dedication to protecting sensitive information

  • Excellent analytical, verbal and written communication skills

  • Knowledge of various applications and business intelligence/database tools

  • Worked on multiple projects within expected timelines

  • Ability to work cohesively in a team

  • Demonstrated understanding of various business intelligence/database tools and applications

Education and/or Experience:

  • 2 - 4 years prior credit analysis or equivalent experience/capabilities 

  • Bachelor's Degree. Business, finance, accounting major preferred, other majors with a business minor also acceptable

Technology:

  • Microsoft office suite

  • Other required programs, software, etc.
