Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Investigates all available sources of credit and financial information.

Prepares summaries, presents facts, and occasionally offers opinions concerning credit-worthiness.

Provides credit information and references for customers, loan officers, or other agencies as requested.

Maintains control over current accounts, watches for any developing problems, and keeps loan officers informed.

Assesses the risk of loan applicants by gathering and analyzing their financial data.
-
Identifies a person's creditworthiness, a company's creditworthiness, or an institution's creditworthiness.
-
Approves or denies loans in collaboration with other financial experts.
-
Assesses whether a line of credit should be extended, increased, or closed and makes recommendations accordingly.

Analyzes risk based on regional, sector-specific, and environmental information.
-
Reports credit information and prepares them.
-
Conducts quality assurance reviews.

Analyzes market trends.
-
Ensures collateral compliance covenants are adhered to.

Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local financial regulations.

Verifies information and uncovers fraud by analyzing data.

Enhances credit rating criteria by updating them.

Prepares financial documents related to credit risk.

Informs colleagues and applicants of credit decisions and policies.

Prepares documents or oversees their preparation.
Qualifications:

Performs work under direct supervision. Handles basic issues and problems, and refers more complex issues to higher-level staff.

Experience using spreadsheet software

Basic understanding of accounting, statistics, and economic

Previous experience as a credit analyst or loan office

Understanding of commercial credit products, market trends, and loan procedures

Detail-oriented

Ability to analyze and think critically

Skills in quantitative analysis

Planning and managing projects

Education and/or Experience:

Bachelor's Degree. Business, finance, accounting major preferred, other majors with a business minor also acceptable; or equivalent experience.
