The role: Flutterwave is looking for a Country Manager for Zambia who will manage the growth and expansion of the company’s sales and operations in the assigned region from conceptualization to implementation in the designated local market and offerings in line with best practices and regulatory standards

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Managing and providing support to the following functions in-country:
    • Retail Sales
    • Enterprise Sales
    • Operations and Partnerships (Expansion)
    • Compliance and Risk
    • Regulatory

These functions will have in-country leads over time.  Initially, the Country Manager role may involve covering for some of these roles – and collaborating with the central function leads - until all these functional positions have been filled

  • Constant overarching focus on maintaining and/or opening up Flutterwave rails and driving product awareness, retail traffic, enterprise sales, user adoption, and Flutterwave revenues. 
  • Accurately qualify and forecast monthly business across both enterprise and retail sales. 
  • Implement a metrics-driven approach to align activities with top-line revenue goals. 
  • Develop a deep understanding of competitive offerings to each Flutterwave product, and identify positioning opportunities.
  • Work closely with the central Expansion, Enterprise, Retail, Compliance, and Regulatory teams to improve their understanding of in-country challenges and opportunities.
  • Develop a detailed understanding of all relevant aspects of the local market which impact any Country Manager's responsibilities.
  • Identify opportunities for growth within the local market using your first-party experience and/or third-party data.
  • Working with all team members to successfully drive the Flutterwave brand and drive brand awareness, through offline events, identifying sponsorship opportunities, and initiating partnerships/affiliate relationships.
  • Consulting with the product development team on local market view of product specifications including design and market-relevant features.
  • Follow internal reporting requirements in a timely manner.

Management

  • Build a vision of Flutterwave’s role within the local country payments ecosystem.
  • Build a vision of the local country team’s role within the Flutterwave ecosystem and what the potential could be.
  • Gain buy-in from global teams on the role and goals of the local country within the overall Flutterwave roadmap.
  • Communicate the vision and goals clearly to all direct and dotted line reports.
  • Maximize performance from, and provide support to, all local team members in all functions and at all levels, to achieve the team goals and their individual performance goals.

     

    Desired skills, competencies, and expertise:

    • In-depth knowledge and technical understanding of the organization’s strategy & business, product, and service offerings
    • Very good knowledge of local and global industry dynamics including regulation, legislation, and operating environment.
    • Very good understanding of micro and macroeconomic indices and their impact on business.
    • Ability to think strategically and holistically and to appreciate the systematic impact of various policies, issues, and solutions.
