The Role
Lead Samba TV's entry into Brazil, developing strategies, partnerships, and commercial efforts in the media and advertising sectors. Responsible for sales cycles and technical integrations.
Summary Generated by Built In
Samba is a media intelligence company. We know what the world is watching, reading, and thinking about — in real time, at scale, across every screen. Our data exists with the consent of over a billion people, organized into the most complete picture of consumer attention ever built. The biggest brands in the world use that picture to make smarter decisions. We think it’s the most interesting data asset on the planet, because it’s the most culturally relevant.

Samba is entering the Brazilian market, and we're looking for an entrepreneurial, multi-disciplinary consultant to lead the charge on the ground. This is a true 0-to-1 opportunity: you won't inherit a playbook — you'll write it. You'll combine commercial acumen, business development instincts, and technical fluency to establish Samba's presence, build partnerships, drive initial revenue, and shape go-to-market products tailored to local market conditions and regulatory requirements.

This role sits at the intersection of commercial partnerships, business development, solutions engineering, and market strategy. We need someone who can pitch to senior brand and agency contacts in the morning, troubleshoot data integrations in the afternoon, and brief our product team on local market requirements in the evening. If you thrive in ambiguity, build structure where none exists, and are energized by the prospect of building a new market from scratch — this role is for you.

This is a contract / consultant engagement based in São Paulo. The initial engagement period will be defined based on mutual alignment, with the potential for extension or conversion based on market traction and business needs. Travel within Brazil is expected; occasional travel to Samba offices in the US or other international locations may be required.

What You'll Do

Own the commercial strategy for Brazil: identify target accounts, build pipeline, and close initial deals across agencies, advertisers, and media companies.

    • Take a consultative approach to sales — educate the market on Samba's data, measurement, and audience solutions while adapting value propositions to local needs.

    • Develop and execute account plans for key prospects, manage the full sales cycle from prospecting through close, and maintain accurate forecasting.

    • Identify, evaluate, and negotiate strategic partnerships with local broadcasters, OEMs, data providers, platforms, and technology partners critical to Samba's Brazil infrastructure.

    • Map the Brazilian media, advertising, and data ecosystem — understand who the key players are, where the opportunities lie, and what partnerships unlock scale.

    • Serve as the technical point of contact for prospects and partners — scope integrations, troubleshoot implementation questions, and translate Samba's product capabilities into client-specific solutions. • Provide technical pre-sales support: run product demos, respond to RFIs/RFPs, and build proof-of-concept solutions that demonstrate value.

    • Develop a comprehensive Brazil market entry strategy encompassing regulatory landscape, competitive positioning, data privacy compliance (LGPD), partnership requirements, and revenue

    projections.

    • Build the operational foundation for Samba's Brazil presence — define processes, reporting cadences, and success metrics.

    • Provide regular market updates and strategic recommendations to Samba's international and executive leadership.

Who You Are

Entrepreneurial builder with 10+ years of commercial experience in ad tech, media, data, or DaaS/SaaS — with a proven track record of launching products, entering new markets, and closing deals in Brazil or broader Latin America.

    • Commercially sharp and strategically minded: you've built pipelines, closed deals, and thought beyond quota to build something new, whether through a consulting, market entry, or strategic commercial background.

    • Technically fluent: you understand APIs, data integrations, programmatic ecosystems, and measurement methodologies well enough to hold your own in technical conversations and troubleshoot client implementations.

    • Deeply networked across the Brazilian ecosystem: established relationships with agencies, broadcasters, platforms, and advertisers, including major holding companies such as Publicis, WPP, Omnicom, Dentsu, Havas, and IPG.

    • Knowledgeable about the Brazilian media and data landscape: including the television ecosystem (Globo, SBT, Record, RedeTV!, pay TV, OTT/streaming, ACR/smart TV), audience data, cross-screen measurement, and data privacy regulations (LGPD).

    • Trilingual: native or professional fluency in Portuguese, English, and Spanish is required.

    • Self-directed and cross-functional: you operate with significant autonomy, set your own priorities, and collaborate effectively across sales, product, engineering, legal, and marketing, often across time zones.

    • Comfortable at the executive level: confident presenting to C-suite buyers and navigating complex, enterprise-level negotiations.

    • MBA or equivalent advanced degree from a top-tier program is preferred.

What We Do

Television remains a vibrant cultural influence and an essential source of entertainment and information worldwide. Tremendous growth in content choices, and viewing platforms that allow us to watch anything, anytime, on any screen, has actually made it harder for viewers to discover and keep up with all the great programming available. It’s also more competitive for content providers to keep your attention, and for marketers to make strong, measurable connections with their target consumers. Technology that improves the viewing experience, enables content discovery, and addresses audience fragmentation across screens will strengthen television’s business model and relevance to consumers. Data is at the center of any solution to make TV better. Samba TV's technology is built into Smart TVs and easily maps to smart phones and tablets. By recognizing what's on screen, Samba TV learns what viewers like and using machine learning algorithms, enables discovery of shows and actors in a whole new way. Likewise, our data and measurement products are transforming the way stakeholders across the media landscape are thinking about their business. Given the dramatic growth in streaming services, connected devices, time-shifting, and multi-screen viewership, our data products solve real problems and create a meaningful competitive advantage for our clients.
