Job Description:
As a Finance Controller supporting multiple Carrier entities across various countries, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy and compliance of our financial activities. Your oversight will include adhering to US GAAP, local GAAP, Corporate Policies, and Sarbanes-Oxley requirements. Reporting to the Residential Fire Europe Controller, you will support the local business while aligning with Carrier Corporation Finance's mission and vision.
Role Responsibilities:
- Oversight & Coordination: Provide support for the oversight and coordination of control activities across multiple entities in compliance with US GAAP, local GAAP, and Corporate Policies.
- Accounting Activities: Manage closing activities, reconciliations, statutory reporting, and tax reporting. Oversee third-party activities related to general accounting.
- Statutory Compliance: Ensure all accounting activities are in line with external reporting and statutory compliance matters.
- Control Environment: Own the actuals reporting, financial statement analysis, reconciliation reviews, and statutory reporting. Maintain full control environment for SOX reportable entities including quarterly certification requirements.
- Collaboration & Communication: Work closely with third-party shared services and other service providers (e.g., Genpact, Accenture, EY, PWC). Communicate and influence key Business Partners, Controllers, Finance Leads, and external parties.
- Financial & Internal Control: Identify, communicate, and resolve financial and internal control matters. Provide support and coordinate with Global Tax, internal and external auditors, and service providers.
- Local Compliance & Tax Matters: Oversee all local compliance and tax matters, ensuring adherence to relevant regulations and standards.
- Support Business Initiatives: Engage in key projects and strategic initiatives while managing complex accounting activities. Support Business Unit Controllership Leaders with key initiatives and BU focus items.
Minimum Requirements:
- Experience in financial control and accounting, preferably within a European environment.
- Strong understanding of US GAAP and local GAAP.
- Experience with statutory reporting and compliance matters.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage and influence internal and external stakeholders effectively.
- Willingness to occasionally travel to the office in Germany.
