Costing Analyst (Contract Role)

Job Summary:
This position will be emphasizing on setting, Implementing & maintaining labor cost standards through Standard Minutes methodology & PMTS process engineering standards & project management. Based in India, this position will primarily create, manage & maintain the SMV (Standard Minutes Value) database and support in seasonal cost estimation process while supporting the alignment of Standards minutes for Columbia by collaborating with cross functional team and vendors. Proactively work on continuous improvement of the process/methods database to make it user friendly and improve the accuracy of the SMV values.
Department:
Cost Engineering department supports the business by driving the supply chain with focus on setting and delivering costing standards and provide technical expertise for cost improvement and negotiation for CSC products. Cost Engineering team supports larger Costing and Profitability team in achieving Predictable, Competitive and Sustainable cost. Cost Engineering will establish costing tools and guidelines which will be used as a standard benchmark for cost evaluation and analysis.
HOW YOU’LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE
- Manage, Develop, and maintain a SMVs (Standard Minute Value) database to calculate the labor cost of all Sportswear and Outerwear products.
- Create style level database based on the best manufacturing process to establish competitive time targets for all the Columbia products. Create style with vendor in standardization & alignment of the manufacturing processes.
- Continuously explore process improvement opportunities for SMV reduction.
- Support on other costing project initiatives and Cross functional teams related to improvement of process and estimation/calculation of SMVs for cost predictability and competitiveness as required.
Skills Required:
- Thorough understanding of Garment construction and Engineering.
- Familiar with SMV /SAM calculation methodology/tools.
- GSD certification is preferred but not mandatory.
- Good communication.
- Well versed with Analytical skills.
