Job Description
Teledyne LeCroy designs, manufactures, and markets state-of-the-art electronic test and measurement equipment. Originally founded as LeCroy Corporation in 1964, the company was acquired by Teledyne Technologies (NYSE: TDY) in 2012 and now operates as a wholly owned subsidiary. We are in Chestnut Ridge, NY (Rockland County).
Position Summary
The Cost Accounting Intern will work closely with the Accounting and Finance team to gain hands-on experience in cost accounting within a manufacturing environment. This internship provides exposure to inventory accounting, standard costing, financial reporting, budgeting, and inventory control processes while supporting ongoing business initiatives and special projects.
This position is ideal for a student pursuing a degree in Accounting or Finance who is interested in learning about manufacturing operations and cost accounting practices.
This onsite role is part-time in Chestnut Ridge NY, ideally 20 - 25 hours per week.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist with inventory analysis, reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
- Support inventory control activities, including cycle count reviews and variance investigations.
- Assist in analyzing purchase price variances (PPV), work order variances, and manufacturing costs.
- Help prepare monthly account reconciliations and journal entry support schedules.
- Assist with maintaining standard costs and product cost information within the ERP system.
- Support work-in-process (WIP) inventory analysis and aging reviews.
- Help prepare manufacturing cost reports and management reporting schedules.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis activities.
- Support internal and external audit requests by gathering data and preparing documentation.
- Participate in special projects related to inventory management, cost accounting, process improvements, and ERP initiatives.
- Collaborate with Accounting, Operations, Supply Chain, Engineering, and Manufacturing personnel on various projects and assignments.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related business field.
- Rising Junior, Senior, or graduate student preferred.
- Minimum GPA of 3.0 preferred.
- Prior internship, coursework, or project experience related to accounting, finance, manufacturing, or supply chain is a plus.
- Interest in pursuing a career in Cost Accounting, Manufacturing Finance, or Corporate Accounting.
Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial statements.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with Word and PowerPoint preferred.
- Exposure to ERP systems such as SAP is a plus.
- Ability to work with large data sets and maintain attention to detail.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines.
- Self-motivated with a willingness to learn and take initiative.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Salary Range:
$44,500.00-$59,300.000The anticipated salary range listed for this role is only an estimate.
