Job Summary:
We are looking for an experienced Cost Accountant who will report to the Cost Accounting Supervisor based in Taneytown, MD. In this role you will support a local accounting/finance structure, working directly within the operations and helping with other factories as needed.
Responsibilities:
- Month end reporting
- Perform month end close for Inventory
- Project accounting/Percentage of Completion Accounting
- Percentage of completion reporting
- Processing month end journal entries
- Run and reconcile Backlog
- Balance sheet reconciliations
- Meetings with PM's on project margins, EAC's, and potential LD's
- Perform Standard Cost Roll process annually
- Data analysis for cost and manufacturing within the business
- Become and stay current with all company policies, accounting and relevant Corporate policies
- Other duties assigned
Requirements:
- BS or BA Degree in relevant field and 3+ years of relevant experience.
- Strong Cost Accounting knowledge and experience
- Highly Proficient/Expert in Excel other MS Office products
- Knowledge of GAAP
- Clear and concise communications skills
- Ability to challenge the norm and look for better solutions/processes, attention to detail
Preferred Experience / Skills:
- Systems knowledge: BPC, SAP will be beneficial. Ability to learn local ERP system- Symix
