Role Summary:
As a Senior Cost Accountant, you'll analyze financial information and prepare journal entries to record assets, liabilities, profit and loss transactions, or other financial activities for the organization. In this role, you will support a local accounting/finance structure, working directly with operations and helping support month-end close activities across facilities as needed.
This role requires experience in percentage-of-completion (POC) accounting, including revenue recognition, project cost analysis, and collaboration with operations to ensure accurate financial reporting under long-term contract accounting.
Responsibilities:
- Actively participating in assigned accounting and month end closing processes under US-GAAP
- Perform month-end journal entries for closing, general ledger account analysis and Balance Sheet account reconciliations in Blackline
- Support percentage-of-completion (POC) accounting activities, including review of project costs, revenue recognition, and cost-to-complete estimates
- Assist with the resolution of any issues that could impact the timely month-end closing and communicate timely to the Accounting Supervisor
- Become and stay current with all company policies, accounting and relevant Corporate policies
- Adhere to all the SOX procedures
- Sales and margin analysis, including project-based margin reporting under POC accounting
- Processing accruals
- Perform Warranty analysis, accounting and work with operations to learn of potential future warranty
- And any other duties assigned
Requirements:
- BS or BA Degree in relevant field and 3-5 years relevant experience
- Experience processing accruals, performing month-end journal entries, general ledger account analysis, and balance sheet account reconciliations
- Hands-on experience with percentage-of-completion (POC) accounting in a project-based or contract environment
- Strong understanding of revenue recognition under ASC 606
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
- Ability to establish and maintain effective work relationships with stakeholders
- Intermediate level experience in Excel and other MS Office products
- Strong analytical, research and problem-solving skills
- Keen on building positive relationships
- Attention to detail
- Flexibility and ability to drive process improvements as needed
Preferred:
- Systems knowledge: Symix, BPC, SAP will be beneficial
- Experience with Blackline preferred
- POC Accounting experience

Pay Range :
- 83,858.19 - 104,852.23 - 125,846.26
