Description of Work

Reporting to the Business Officer, this position is responsible for all training of certified and non-certified staff to ensure compliance with policy at a multi custody female correctional facility. This position’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
Key Duties Included:
- Ensuring that specialized training is coordinated and policy requirements are met.
- Conducting new employee orientation to ensure newly hired staff are educated on policies and procedures.
- Instructing various general and specialized training and maintaining instructor certifications as defined by policies and the Criminal Justice Education and Training Standards Commission.
- Scheduling instructors for classes to ensure training requirements are met.
- Preparing and teaching classes in the absence of scheduled instructors
- Entering records from Office of Staff Development and Training (OSDT) into Offender Population Unified System (OPUS) and maintaining training records as required policies.
- Maintaining all new external training requirements as outlined in department policy.

Salary Range: $41,206.00 - $72,113.00

About The Division of Institutions:

The Division of Institutions manages the daily operations of all state-operated prison facilities across North Carolina. Facilities are categorized by custody levels (minimum, medium, close) and house individuals serving sentences for felony convictions. The division provides safety, security, and rehabilitative services through trained custody staff, program facilitators, and administrative personnel.
