Flexible Work Arrangement: HybridThrough this 24-month rotational program, participants will complete three eight-month rotations across PJM Interconnection to build a practical foundation in electric power systems, real-time grid operations, wholesale electricity markets, and long-term transmission planning. The program is designed for new college graduates who are interested in applying technical engineering knowledge to support the reliable operation and planning of the regional power grid. Upon completion of the program, participants will be placed into a permanent position at PJM that aligns with their skills, interests, performance, and business needs.This position will start in June 2027
Essential Functions:
  • Complete three eight-month rotations that provide hands-on experience in areas such as system operations, market operations, transmission planning, and related engineering support functions.
  • Apply engineering principles, analytical methods, and power system concepts to support studies, operational analysis, market analysis, planning activities, and technical problem solving.
  • Participate in structured learning and formal mentoring with program leadership, rotational managers, and technical subject matter experts.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate technical information clearly to support reliable grid operations, effective market administration, and long-term infrastructure planning.
  • Receive exposure and support from former Corporate Rotation Program employees, senior and executive leaders through assignments and roundtable discussions.

Characteristics and Qualifications:
Required:
  • BS, Economics Engineering Electrical Engineering Electrical Power Engineering Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics or Operational Research
  • Designed for recent or upcoming college graduates; GPA:  3.0 or higher out of 4.0 scale
  • Ability to apply electrical engineering concepts, including fundamental power system, circuit, and analytical principles
  • Ability to produce high-quality work products with attention to detail
  • Ability to perform quantitative and qualitative analysis using engineering judgment
  • Ability to learn technical tools, troubleshoot issues, and provide analytical or operational support
  • Ability to communicate technical information clearly and collaborate across teams
  • Experience in quantitative and qualitative analysis
  • Ability to use mathematical and electrical theory
  • Ability to troubleshoot and provide technical support
PJM is not STEM OPT eligible. Immigration sponsorship is not available for this position.
Preferred:
  • Academic, internship, co-op, research, or project experience in power systems, transmission planning, system operations, energy markets, data analysis, or electric utility operations
  • Exposure to power system analysis tools, programming or scripting, data visualization, modeling, or simulation software
  • Experience using PSS/e (power system analysis program)

Skills Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electrical Power Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or Operations Research
