We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Logistics Assistant to join our corporate logistics team. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a logistics professional to gain deep operational knowledge, contribute to strategic initiatives, and grow within a dynamic and well-established organization.

The ideal candidate will support daily logistics operations, collaborate across departments, and help drive efficiency and performance improvements. The position is suited for someone who is eager to learn daily operations across our locations to provide meaningful support and recognize the broader impact of their role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Shipping Coordination: Scheduling, monitoring, and coordinating shipments of goods ensuring efficient and economical routing and timely delivery.
  • Documentation Management: Processing, preparing, and verifying shipping documents, including bills of lading and advance shipping documents, for both outbound and inbound freight.
  • Customer Service: Responding to internal customer inquiries, complaints, or problems related to delays, loss or damage of shipments and providing updates on receipt and delivery.
  • Record Keeping: Maintaining organized files or transportation documents, reports, and inventory.
  • Problem Solving: Identifying and resolving issues that arise during the transportation process, such as unexpected problems in transit.
  • Communication: Communicating effectively with customers, internal staff, and external parties, such as carriers and vendors, to manage shipment needs and information flow.

Qualifications:

  • Organizational & Administrative Skills: Strong ability to manage multiple tasks, maintain organized records, and handle administrative projects.
  • Communication Skills: Proficient in verbal and written communication to interact with vendors, suppliers, carriers as well as internal personnel.
  • Technical Skills: Familiarity with transportation systems, software packages, and databases is beneficial. This includes Microsoft 365 suite of apps.
  • Attention to Detail: Thorough, detailed approach to verifying documentation and ensuring accuracy in all tasks.
  • Problem-Solving & Initiative: The ability to independently resolve issues, make decisions, and take initiative to ensure smooth operations.
  • Customer Focus: A commitment to providing excellent service and addressing customer needs and concerns.
  • Flexibility: Willingness to support a wide range of logistics functions, and the ability to pivot and contribute where necessary.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in corporate logistics or fleet management.
  • Familiarity with compliance standards and safety protocols.
