Corporate Legal Assistant
Brentwood Industries, Inc. (“BII”) seeking a Corporate Legal Assistant to drive operational excellence across its corporate legal functions, including commercial contracting and governance, risk, and compliance (GRC/D), within a growing, global manufacturing organization. In this role, the Corporate Legal Assistant will contribute to strategic initiatives while supporting efficient legal processes, enhancing legal operations, and optimizing legal technology solutions.The employee may also perform other duties as required or assigned to support business objectives
Essential Responsibilities:
- Partner closely with members of the Legal team to streamline contract workflows, reduce cycle times, and accelerate deal velocity
- Support the development and maintenance of playbooks, clause libraries, and self-service resources to enable efficient and consistent contract negotiations
- Assist with contract intake processes to ensure timely assignment, tracking, and resolution of commercial legal requests
- Support change management initiatives across the Legal department, including trainings, communications, and stakeholder engagement, to drive successful adoption of new systems and processes
- Contribute to the creation and ongoing support of client self-help tools such as dashboards, toolkits, legal trainings, Q&A resources, and process flows to improve operational efficiency
- Create, update, and maintain user documentation, training materials, and standard operating procedures for legal technology platforms
- Contribute to knowledge management initiatives and the development of best-practice documentation
- Maintain and organize Legal department files, templates, resources, and reference materials to ensure accessibility and consistency
- Serve as a key liaison between the Legal team and business partners, including Sales, Finance, Treasury, IT, HR, and Procurement
- Coordinate cross-functional initiatives related to legal processes, risk management, and compliance efforts
- Support ad-hoc projects, reporting, and analysis to drive continuous improvement in legal operations across all functions
Essential Skills:
- Minimum education requirement of a Bachelor’s or Associate degree in a related legal field OR equivalent background with relevant experience
- At least one year of experience working within a legal department or law firm in a role such as legal assistant, compliance clerk, contract manager, or a related position supporting commercial legal functions
- Demonstrated experience supporting corporate legal operations, including commercial contracting and/or governance, risk, and compliance (GRC/D) activities
- Experience supporting Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) platforms and legal intake or workflow tools
- Strong passion for learning, legal and business curiosity, and a demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement
- Highly developed problem-solving skills, with the ability to exercise discretion and sound judgment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with attorneys and cross-functional business stakeholders
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
- Ability to quickly adapt to new systems, tools, and technologies in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with LinkSquares and/or other contract management system platforms (preferred)
- Experience using AI-powered legal technology tools, including contract AI, legal research, and automation solutions (preferred)
- Proficiency with Power BI, Tableau, or similar business intelligence and reporting tools (preferred)
- Experience with SharePoint, NetDocuments, or other document and file management systems (preferred)
