Contact is becoming more complex as a business, and with a period of rapid change ahead want to be sure we’re game-fit, which is how we came to create four new Corporate Finance roles, including this one as Corporate Finance Manager.
Job Description
Kōrero mō te tūranga | About the role
Based in our newly refurbished Wellington head office, as Corporate Finance Manager you’ll lead a team of five highly skilled corporate finance analysts and play a key part in delivering enterprise-wide programmes including corporate strategy, investor relations, internal and external capital allocation, and commodity risk management, while providing economic and strategic analysis and insights to support portfolio management and financial investment decisions across the business.
Reporting to our Head of Corporate Finance, this newly created role is integral to our future and your opportunity as an expert professional in a specialist field that directly impacts the ability for Contact to achieve strategic targets. You’ll identify industry issues and trends emerging both domestically and internationally, looking at likely impacts and how we manage potential negatives and take advantage of opportunities. You’ll ensure the Board, CEO and Leadership Team have all the information they need to make key decisions. You’ll be able to assess risks, analyse options, and articulate findings to a broad audience, internally and externally, and prepare and present detailed reports and updates on M&A activities and capital allocation decision.

Qualifications
Ko wai koe | About you
Used to operating in a senior role at Senior Management and Board level, you’ve earned your stripes in a large corporate environment and are looking now to take your depth of financial analysis & risk management experience somewhere it matters. Armed with significant corporate finance experience, you have a reputation for delivering outstanding solutions to complex problems by developing new approaches and doing it with aplomb – you’re renowned for your communication skills and love getting stuck into the nitty-gritty with stakeholders far and wide.
Along with experience managing large, complex acquisitions, joint ventures and/or divestments, you’re CA/CFA qualified and have a deep understanding of the commercial arrangements and economics in New Zealand’s energy markets.
Above all else, you’re a team player, someone who operates with a high degree of energy and integrity and wants to lead an already great team to higher heights.
