The Role

Corporate Development Intern

This role will support the Head of Corporate Development to conduct market research, create company profiles and develop financial models to assess various strategic initiatives. The role will also involve meeting with internal and external stakeholders to better understand the broader market environment.

You’ll be responsible for:  

  • The work plan will consist of completing the payment market forecast, updating the M&A target list, creating company profiles and developing financial models.

  • The intern will also present their research.

  • Conduct market research and analyze industry trends to identify opportunities and risks.

  • Develop financial models and perform valuation analyses to support strategic decision-making.

  • Create clear, compelling presentations using PowerPoint to communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders.

You bring:  

  • Currently completing an undergraduate degree from a creditable institution with a focus on Business, Economics, or a similar program.

  • Passionate about problem-solving and wish to learn more about the payment and identity markets

  • You exhibit meticulous attention to detail and excellent time management & organizational skills

  • You are very curious to understand the underlying trends driving market, business and consumer behaviour

  • Strategic and financial acumen

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to assess business impact

  • Able to excel at presentation preparation, document review and the formulation of information to an easily digested format

  • Ability to understand, articulate and recommend solutions for complex problems.

  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment consisting of technology and business professionals within the organization.

  • Solid proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint).

  • Although not required, you have some familiarity or previous experience with the following:

    • Experience in the financial services/payments market

    • Experience in conducting market/company research

Workstyle: Hybrid (3 days on-site)

Location: Toronto

Term: May to August 2025

Duration: Monday – Friday
