About the Role

Are you a natural storyteller and proactive self-starter with a passion for writing, connecting people, owning projects and processes, and experimenting with new tools? Join our Corporate Communications team as a Corporate Communications Specialist, where you’ll help bring the Happen Bank brand to life with internal and external audiences. This role is ideal for someone eager to grow their career in communications, explore the evolving role of AI in corporate storytelling, and make an immediate impact on how employees and media engage with our company. You’ll gain hands-on experience in writing, design, and digital channels — while being mentored by senior leaders and working alongside a creative, collaborative team.

What You'll Do

Content Creation:

  • Write clear, engaging communications tailored to internal and external audiences
  • Manage the development and distribution of a weekly internal newsletter
  • Support the rollout of company initiatives by helping to prepare messaging and detailed communications plans
  • Create graphics and visual designs to enhance and amplify communications, including the creation of notices on digital signage

Collaboration & Support:

  • Collaborate with the Corporate Communications team on a variety of internal and external initiatives and events, contributing ideas and enthusiasm
  • Develop strong working relationships with key stakeholders
  • Manage logistics and coordination on a variety of ad hoc projects

Insights & Analytics:

  • Monitor communication effectiveness using analytics dashboards and measurement tools, recommending improvements to boost impact
  • Explore and experiment with AI-powered communication tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude, Microsoft Copilot) to support innovative storytelling and team efficiency

About You

  • 1–3 years of experience (including internships) in communications, journalism, digital media, or a related discipline
  • Bachelor's degree in communications, English, journalism, or a related field
  • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with strong attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and graphic design tools (e.g. Adobe Creative Suite, Canva)
  • Comfort with emerging AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude, Microsoft Copilot, etc.) and curiosity about how they shape the future of communications
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to juggle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
  • A proactive, self-starting approach – you take initiative, anticipate what’s needed, and follow through without waiting to be asked
  • Curiosity, adaptability, initiative, and a growth mindset—you’re excited to learn, take ownership, experiment, and stretch your skills
  • Ability to thrive in a hybrid office model based in San Francisco

Work Location
San Francisco
The above locations are eligible offices for this role. The locations have been determined to foster in-person collaboration with this role’s team or the related business lines. We utilize a hybrid work model, and our teams are in-office Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. In-person attendance is essential for this role’s success, and remote placement will not be considered. LendingClub offers relocation, based on actual job level.
Time Zone Requirements
Primarily PT
While the position will primarily work local hours, LendingClub is headquartered in Pacific Time and our ideal candidate will be flexible working across time zones when necessary.
Travel Requirements
As needed travel to LendingClub offices and/or other locations, as needed.
Compensation
The target base salary range for this position is 70,000-82,000. The base salary of the role will be determined by job-related knowledge, experience, education, skills, and location. Base salary is just one part of LendingClub’s Total Rewards package. You may also be eligible for long-term awards (equity) and an annual bonus (which is based on company performance, employee performance and eligible earnings).
