Salary range: An annual salary range of $175,000 - $200,000 is what we expect to pay for this position, based on overall skills and experience.

As VP, Corporate Communications Director you will help shape and support our communications strategy. This role is pivotal in shaping and maintaining the public image of Customers Bank, driving strategic narrative across all media platforms, and leading a dynamic communications team to achieve outcomes that align with our corporate objectives. As a team player, this role will also include projects that support the broader Marketing & Communications team.

Responsibilities.

  • In partnership with the CMO, help shape and support the corporate communications strategies and align them to enterprise priorities and brand positioning.
  • Partner closely with Marketing, Investor Relations, Legal/Compliance, Product and People Experience to ensure integrated, consistent messaging across internal and external communications.
  • Develop and maintain core messaging architecture, executive talking points, and narrative frameworks that clearly articulate Customers Bank’s value proposition, reinforce brand positioning, and drive alignment across marketing, product, sales, and leadership communications.
  • Support media relations and reputation-sensitive communications in partnership with leadership and external agencies.
  • Serve as a strategic communications partner to the CEO and Executive Leadership, accompanying them to press interviews, high-profile client meetings, and key external engagements to provide real-time messaging support and executive positioning.
  • Manage crisis communications execution, including message development and coordination.
  • Support investor-facing and other high-profile enterprise communications materials and manage quarterly earnings calls from script to production.
  • Bring a creative and innovative mindset to the communications function, continuously evolving storytelling formats, channels, and messaging strategies to maximize impact and audience engagement for both internal and external audiences.
  • Track effectiveness of communications efforts and apply insights to improve impact.

Qualifications

  • 8-12 years' experience in corporate communications or public relations, preferably in a highly regulated industry.
  • Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal, with an aptitude for crafting engaging and clear narratives.
  • Familiarity with Contact Monkey, Business Wire and Q4 platforms for press release distribution and investor communications a plus.
  • Ability to effectively manage and influence multiple stakeholders across functions and levels.
  • Demonstrated success in developing strategic communication plans and campaigns that deliver measurable results.
  • Proven success working closely with external and internal stakeholders, including senior-level executives on messaging, speaking opportunities, media requests, internal communications, and more.
  • Strong crisis management skills and experience managing the relationship with a public relations firm.
  • Strong attention to detail, including the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, changing environment and the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Possess strong judgment and interpersonal skills to be able to work with highly confidential information.
