Job Purpose/Overview
- This position is responsible for championing Mars’ reputation and corporate brand through fostering relationships with key stakeholders – governments, influencers, communities, and Associates in Thailand and Indochina
- He/she will establish a reputation that will help deliver a Better World for Pets for the Mars Pet Nutrition business in Thailand and Indochina, focusing on market requirements.
Job Details
External Relations (Govt, Media)
Corp Comm - Develop effective corporate communication strategies that support the Mars Pet Nutrition Thailand business – Better Cities for Pets, Ending Pet Homelessness Index Outreach that optimize traditional, digital and social media channels. Determine appropriate measurement tools to understand effectiveness of communication strategies. Government Relations - Drive pet food regulations and standards towards uplifting the quality of pet food manufactured and imported into Thailand through influencing Thailand’s Dept of Livestock Development, Thailand Petfood Industry Association and other key stakeholders. Trade Association Management – Understand which trade associations to engage with, how they work be it formal or informal in order to drive Mars’ business objectives through trade association engagement.
Brand PR
Provide support to the Marketing Team in support of brand communications. This includes identifying the right PR agency partner in developing, reviewing and measuring the communications plan that will maximize reach and messaging for the brands. Understand ROI for different marketing channels and PR best practice management Understand sales and marketing strategies, brand and category headlines and trends; as well as cause and sponsorship marketing.
Issues and Crisis Management
Understand the many different issues facing Mars and know which set of issues are most relevant to Thailand and Indochina and Petcare. Understand Mars’ position on critical business issues. Able to proactively manage an issue affecting the business and Mars’ reputation
Internal Communications
Oversee, develop and execute internal comms plans that rallies associates behind key PN Thailand OGSM enablers/strategies towards the greater purpose of Joy of Pet Parenthood for All. This includes but not limited to townhalls, Mars Volunteer Programs, etc) Define and implement an audit to measure, both qualitatively and quantitively, the effectiveness of the Internal Comms platforms.
Community Engagement
Establish and build relationships with Bangkok and cities/towns with strong Mars PN business presence
Consumer Care
Support the 3P team to develop and execute an approach to consumer care that protects and strengthens Mars corporate and brand reputation; manage a team than handles consumer complaints about Mars' products or actions, mitigate any potential damage and prevent it from escalating into a crisis and gathering insights from consumer feedback that can be used for product/process improvement.
CA Support for Indochina
All-encompassing CA support for Indochina business; with an immediate focus on Vietnam ease of doing business.
Job Specifications/Qualifications
- Bachelor or higher degree in Communications, Political Science, Social Science, Business Administration or related fields
- At least 7 years’ experience in working in communications and government agencies especially DLD, BOI, Customs, Industry and Trade associations
- Experience in FMCG industry
- Good knowledge and understanding of government bureaucratic system and protocol
- Excellent communications skills in Thai and English (written and spoken)
