- Estimated annual base pay: Accountant II - $74,240(minimum) - $92,800(midpoint) - $111,360(maximum)
- Estimated annual base pay: Accountant III - $91,600(minimum) - $114,500(midpoint) - $137,400(maximum)

Are you ready to make your mark? If you’re an Accountant, we have an exciting opportunity for you. This position reports to a leader within the Finance organization. The key purpose of this position is to provide financial accounting support in accordance with applicable regulatory and statutory requirements, Woodward policies and procedures, and standards of internal control. This position requires moderate supervision. This position will involve a significant amount of interaction with internal customers and a moderate amount of direct interaction with external customers.
What You Will Be Doing
- Understands and applies general accounting principles to transactions as needed to ensure compliance with regulatory and statutory requirements.
- Plays a significant role in month-end General Ledger close process, including creation and posting of journal entries, driving achievement of deadlines, and identifying requirements necessary for US GAAP and local statutory reporting.
- Assists in preparation of financial statements and footnotes.
- Provides ad-hoc and period-end financial analysis for areas of responsibility.
- Runs standard reports (Tagetik Consolidation System) to facilitate reporting and analysis. Creates new reports or works with IT to develop and improve existing reports as needed to facilitate reporting and analysis.
- Maintains schedules, templates, subsidiary ledgers, worksheets or other documents on an ongoing basis in order to ensure timeliness, consistency and accuracy of reported items.
- Performs reconciliation of general ledger account balances to supporting detail data on a monthly or quarterly basis in order to ensure the accuracy, validity and completeness of reported account balances. Applies appropriate disposition to reconciling items in a timely manner, or solicits help in doing so.
- Ability to identify process inefficiencies and other opportunities for improvements. Participates in process improvement projects as needed to help achieve lean process objectives.
- Participates in special projects as a functional expert.
- Represents finance in meetings with other functional areas, consulting with supervisor and obtaining approval to act as needed.
- Provides consultation regarding accounting theory and internal controls to Finance's customers.
- Prepares financial presentation material for monthly Extended Leadership Team meetings, including analysis notes.
- Supports internal and external audit requests for areas of responsibility.
- Sarbanes-Oxley process owner for areas of responsibility.
- Power user for selected ERP modules related to areas of responsibility.
What We Are Looking For
Accountant II: 2-5 years of related experience required
Accountant III: 5+ years related experience required
- US – Bachelor's Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) Accounting. International - Bachelors, Professional or University degree required
- US – Master's degree in Arts/Sciences (MA/MS) International - Masters or Post Graduate preferred
- CPA, CMA, CIMA, ACCA, Chartered Accountant, or equivalent preferred
- Experience working at a global company and/or public accounting experience preferred
- Intermediate computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint, and Visio, core ERP System, General Ledger, etc.
- Ability to successfully apply accounting theory to situations and transactions to ensure compliance with regulatory and statutory requirements.
- Good written and verbal communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization and excels in communicating with individuals and groups.
- International Locations: Ability to communicate well in English, both in written and verbal forms.,
- Builds and maintains effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to successfully lead and complete small projects.
- Applies sound logic to problem solving. Recognizes problems which are beyond capabilities and seeks out appropriate experts and/or resources.
- Ability to prioritize assigned responsibilities.
- Able to identify and drive process improvements.
