The Core Systems Senior Specialist is responsible for front-line activities involving the installation, commissioning, configuration, repair, operation, and maintenance of Zain Cash Services platforms and related equipment. The role provides operational and maintenance support for Zain Cash platforms, including the Core System, AML, Agent/Merchant Portals, and the Mobile App. It also involves reviewing and providing feedback on new value-added services, emerging technologies, and proposed modifications, as well as delivering day-to-day support to internal and external customers using Zain Cash services and systems. In addition, the position requires performing DBA tasks for Zain Cash databases and managing data warehouse and reporting services.

Responsibilities
  • Implements projects, tasks, and plans to achieve targets and marketing requirements.
  • Implement scripts to extract information and/or automate tasks.
  • Implement configuration changes on systems.
  • Run traces and analysis on different platforms and troubleshoot different types of reported incidents and issues.
  • Perform acceptance testing procedures for new solutions, systems and services.
  • Responsible for observing and enhancing systems’ performance.
  • Ready to handle additional responsibilities as and when needed by the department/division/business.
  • Responsible for the security, confidentiality & integrity of all information assets within his/her responsibilities in accordance with the company’s Information Security Policies.
  • Perform maintenance, support & Back-up.
  • Provide day-to-day DBA tasks for all Zain cash DB’s.
  • Build and maintain running reports in ZC DWH, in addition to building new ones.
  • Provide support to commercial teams by implementing new requests and any new ideas.
  • Support end-users (customers) through solving reported customer cases.
  • Facilitate implementation of projects from other divisions and departments.
  • Prepare and analyze statistics and reports covering different platforms.
  • Maintaining systems/services availability and monitoring their utilizations.
  • Work on upgrades and patches implementation for platforms

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Computer Engineering or Computer Science or any related field.
  • 5-7 years of experience in related field.
Preferred Skills
  • Strong Computer knowledge and UNIX, Linux use for administration and shell scripting.
  • Good knowledge of databases like MySQL, SQL, Oracle etc.
  • Good knowledge of Network, Switch, Router, Firewall, TCP/IP protocol etc.
  • Good Troubleshooting skills.
  • Good knowledge of financial services and banking solutions.
  • Ability to work under pressure and flexibility, willing to extend working hours to exceptionally complete projects.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Team Player & Time management.
  • Accountability.
  • Critical thinking.
