The Workforce Support and Development Coordinator play a critical role in ensuring employees with disabilities receive the individualized support they need to succeed across our contract, retail, and corporate worksites. This position serves as a key resource for employees and supervisors, helping remove barriers to employment and maximizing everyone’s potential.

What You Will Do

Employee Support & Assessment

  • Conduct intake and assessment meetings to identify individualized support needs for employees with disabilities.
  • Develop clear, concise Employee Support Plans (ESP) based on assessment findings, observed needs, and management input.
  • Gather, analyze, and summarize support needs to maximize employee success across worksites.
  • Conduct routine follow-up with employees and site management to ensure ESP effectiveness and identify additional resources if needed.

Documentation, Compliance & Reporting

  • Enter and maintain Employee Support Plans and documentation in the Lauris electronic database.
  • Assist employees in understanding and obtaining required Documentation of Disability in coordination with Human Resources and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide assistance with clearance and badging paperwork as needed.
  • Document all contacts and support activities within the Lauris electronic system.
  • Maintain established timelines, scheduling requirements, and program deadlines.

Training & Workforce Support

  • Train and guide supervisors on how to effectively use the Employee Support Plan as a practical support tool.
  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert on disability-related supports and workplace accommodations.
  • Follow established SOPs for responding to workforce support concerns reported by HR or site management.
  • Provide direct interaction and follow-up support to assist HR with workforce support–related personnel matters.
  • Keep the Workforce Support and Development Director informed of participant issues that may impact employment status and document all support efforts.

Travel

  • Travel extensively to Didlake worksites and offsite meeting locations throughout the Portsmouth, Virginia Beach, Norfolk, and Chesapeake areas. 
Preferred Qualifications

What You Bring

You are compassionate, organized, and solutions-oriented, with a strong understanding of disability support in competitive employment settings. You communicate effectively across varying cognitive levels and can translate employee needs into practical, worksite strategies.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in education, Rehabilitation, Psychology, or related field plus a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience providing direct support to adults with a variety of disabilities; OR
  • High School Diploma plus a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience providing direct support to adults with a variety of disabilities.

Skills & Abilities

  • Extensive experience providing direct rehabilitation services to adults with diverse disabilities.
  • Strong knowledge of evaluative processes to determine individualized support needs.
  • Ability to respectfully assess and address barriers across the 7 Functional Limitation Areas as they relate to employment.
  • Exceptional listening skills with the ability to translate support needs into actionable workplace strategies.
  • Ability to write clear, concise, and practical Employee Support Plans (ESP).
  • Experience training and guiding supervisors on disability-related support.
  • Strong collaboration skills across departments, including HR and site leadership.
  • Crisis management experience.
  • Superior organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Ability to work independently while meeting deadlines.
  • Proficiency with electronic documentation systems.

Schedule

  • Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
  • Flexibility required for occasional evenings and weekends.

Skills Required

  • Bachelor's degree in education, Rehabilitation, Psychology, or related field
