Job Description

We are a global law firm with a powerful strategic focus and real momentum. Our industry-focused strategy is seeing us take on pioneering work in places that others have yet to reach. Our shared values define our culture and our workplace. You will find us to be unusually collegial, team-oriented, and ready to innovate. We work seamlessly across practices, offices and around the world. This elimination of boundaries has allowed us to evolve into a law firm that works as hard for its culture as it does for its clients.

As part of the US Business Development (BD) team, this role supports day-to-day needs of team members and practice group lawyers in the execution of strategic go-to-market initiatives that generate new client relationships, enhance brand profile, and drive revenue opportunities.

The ideal candidate is a highly-motivated, detail-oriented individual who shows ambition, determination and the desire to further develop a career in business development. We are looking for a candidate who can quickly build rapport with key stakeholders and work closely with peers and senior marketing staff to provide tactical support for business development initiatives.

This role supports business development initiatives for the Financial Institutions sector and may be based in Houston, Dallas, Austin, or San Antonio. It follows a hybrid schedule, with in‑office presence and travel expected on an as‑needed basis.

We aim to provide you with opportunities to develop your career, encouraging close cooperation and teamwork alongside our broader Marketing and Business Development team. This is an exciting opportunity to join a national team at one of the world's largest law firms.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Support the production of client-targeted marketing materials to raise and maintain awareness of our Financial Institutions sector strengths in line with strategic growth objectives, such as bids/RFPs, client development presentations, external publications, annual client value reports or relationship statement documents, ensuring adherence to brand and style guidelines.

  • Track client engagement activities for Financial Institutions sector responses in the Firm’s experience management system, including producing periodic reports on bid activity, collecting and publishing historical proposal data, and locating source files.

  • Monitor strategic actions agreed in plans and project meetings; assist follow-up efforts.

  • Work with other team members to assist in the production of newsletters, blogs, client alerts and other external communications in a timely manner.

  • Develop and distribute internal communications for promoting monthly engagement activities of the Financial Institutions sector.

  • Work with the in-house events team and supervisor to support events, such as industry conference sponsorships, client presentations and seminars, section/department retreats, client dinners, and other events related to the promotion of the Financial Institutions practices.

  • Support basic research projects (e.g., company relationship information, executive profiles, etc.) working with others to finalize and deliver.

  • Assist with submissions in legal directories (such as Chambers and Legal 500) and practice/industry surveys.

  • Assist with the production of internal presentations for relevant training/development programs, ensuring adherence to brand and style guidelines.

  • Monitor content quality — clean, edit, update, organize content and related experience lists used for go-to-market initiatives to ensure accuracy and consistency in the Firm’s experience management system.

  • Finalize and process check requests, invoices, and other arrangements required for support of department marketing activities.

  • Update intranet content in the US and, where relevant, at a global level to raise awareness of BD initiatives and opportunities.

  • Create and maintain marketing mailings and lists in the Firms’ CRM system as needed.

  • Assist team members in the lateral integration/onboarding process as needed.

  • Update web content, practice descriptions, and marketing collateral as needed.
