Job Description Summary

The Miami University Center for Career Exploration and Success (CCES) is seeking to fill two positions as Employer Relations Coordinator/Assistant Director for Employer Relations designed to support the growth and management of employer relationships and cultivate internship and job opportunities for all Miami University (OH) undergraduate and graduate students.
Reporting to the Associate Director of Employer Relations, the Assistant Director/Employer Relations Coordinator will have excellent teamwork and communication skills and understand employer relations, college recruiting, employment and recruiting trends, and develop an in-depth familiarity with the employment needs of assigned Colleges and Career Clusters. Additionally, this role provides consultation to employers looking to expand their talent pipelines and provide employers with virtual and in-person engagement opportunities that foster mentoring and networking with students.
The Assistant Director of Employer Relations/Employer Relations Coordinator is a member of the Employer Relations Team (ERT) within CCES.
This position is campus-based. This position is eligible for remote work on a hybrid basis. Remote work is not a right, but a working arrangement that can be modified or revoked by Miami University at any time for any reason.

Job Description

Essential Duties

Develop new and maintain existing employer relationships and work actively to promote the recruitment of Miami University students through direct contact with employers. Leveraging technology and personalized outreach efforts, work with CCES staff and Miami University Divisions (i.e. Academics, Advancement, Student Life and Enrollment Management and Student Success) as needed.  Lead employer relations efforts for assigned career clusters and/or colleges. 

Advises employers on recruiting strategies that will help them build their brands and increase loyalty to Miami University and its students.  Serve as the connector between students and employers including arranging employer participation in various CCES events and programs.  Stay abreast of recruiting strategies and leverage appropriate technology to conduct employer outreach and produce reports

Lead and execute short-term special projects assigned.  

Supports data collection, analysis, and reporting regarding recruiting activities, job placements and salaries.

Assist in the coordination of office-wide special events, programs, workshops, and career fairs, and other events as needed.  Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Coordinator Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree and one year of experience.

A Bachelor's degree is required by the start date. The experience may be obtained while obtaining a degree.

Assistant Director Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree and three years of experience.

A Bachelor's degree is required by the start date. The experience may be obtained while obtaining a degree.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Proven ability to build and nurture networks of internal and external relationships.

Multi-faceted customer service skill set including strong interpersonal skills, excellent verbal and written communications, presentation skills, and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.

Familiar with current employment trends; employer branding strategies; and targeted recruitment principles, procedures and resources.

Ability to leverage and use various software

Preferred Qualifications:

A Master's Degree is preferred.
