Are you a frontend developer with an exceptional eye for design? Or are you a UI Designer who loves jumping into the code to see your creations come to life?

We are looking for a UI Engineer—a rare hybrid professional who sits right at the intersection of creative design and technical execution. You will own the look, feel, and implementation of core product surfaces, including our admin tool, chatbot interfaces, and data reporting modules.

Responsibilities:

• Design and build high-quality front-end solutions for core product surfaces

• Conduct user research and rapidly prototype

• Build reusable front-end components and apply established design systems to ensure consistency and scalability

• Collaborate with developers, delivery teams and stakeholders

• Support accessibility reviews and basic accessibility testing

Key Skills and Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, UI/UX Design, or similar technical/creative discipline

• 3+ years of commercial experience blending product/UI design with hands-on frontend development.

• Good visual design judgement and attention to detail

• Strong communication skills, a collaborative working style, and a pragmatic approach to problem solving

• Proficiency in React.js, CSS, JavaScript, and TypeScript

Desirable:

• Familiarity with conversational AI

• Hands-on experience with accessibility compliance testing practices.

This role is home based, but you will need to be Auckland-based to join the team at our Ellerslie office for collaboration days .
